  Here, I caught this feeling that did not give me rest, it was like a fly around, but I could not grasp it. The world of the "Snail on the slope" by the Strugatskys, the most beloved by the masters and misunderstood-not accepted by the general public of the work. Simplified and maximally aligned with the mainstream requests of the target audience.
  
  In no case is it a reproach to the author, Nick Perumov is remarkably talented, smart, and he solves fundamentally different tasks than his Brothers. In his cosmology, the highest goal of a person is to become God-like, while the Strugatskys were skeptical about such a possibility (remember "A Beetle in an anthill", "Ugly Swans", and "It's hard to be God", after all).
  
  Remember, in the novel there were a Forest and an Institute, each functioning in accordance with its own laws and regulations? At the same time, the Institute managed the resources and pretended to direct the processes taking place in the forest, while the latter did not know about its existence at all, it even happened to favorably accept emissaries who taught life. And immediately returned to his life.
