Critical Survey of Graphic Novels: Manga Reviews
-
Basically, this is a review of a bunch of different manga series that were really popular from 2004 and earlier. Not really interesting for me. It includes major spoilers, so if you haven’t finished a series and you read up on it in here, you’re gonna get spoiled.
Each series has information on the publication history, the plot, each volume, characters, the artistic style, themes, impact, and “see also.” It also includes the author’s name, the artist’s name, the publishers, the first serial publication, and the first book publication.
I can tell each review was thought up carefully. It was well done. It even included bibliographies after each series of the information, which is impressive.
If you’re looking for a detailed summary of some manga, this will probably be for you. I can’t think of anything else this would be used for. -
Great print resource for librarians looking to add manga to their collection. At least that was my purpose.
