A Raven-Haired Hellion

After losing her mother in a blaze of fire, thirteen-year-old Taylor Sullivan filed Castle Sullivan with only a golden ring, and a bitter legacy of rage. Armed with a sharp dagger and a quick sword, she hired out as a mercenary, sworn to deny her womanhood and her noble heritage. Soon though, the fateful ring brought a bold knight in hot pursuit—a relentless lord who would condemn her to death or redeem her in flames of passion.

A Knight of Honor

Noble knight Slane Donovan was duty-bound to find the woman with the Sullivan ring after her powerful father decreed she would be his brother's bride. With Castle Donovan under siege, it was her dowry that would save his family's ancestral home. But even as the fierce young beauty eluded Slane's grasp, her sensuous charms enflamed his heart—daring him to break the code that bound him to family and claim her forever as his own.

A Knight of Honor Reviews

I loved Taylor’s wit in this book. Her character was obviously written to be a strong heroine. Jared’s character, I think was written as a non confrontational guy. Slane, was a strong protector. The action was not to overwhelming for the book. The sarcasm from each character was great. I think that the sarcasm helped make Taylor be the strong woman that she is. The story flowed with ease and maintained the point of the plot. I will read more from this author.

I loved this book. The heroine was such a strong character (as in not crying and whining at every turn) :) and i loved how realistic her feelings and trust came (or went). Definitely one of my favorite. I cried a river reading this. I only wish it was published in paperback so that I can have it on my bookshelf. I love the parallelism used with the fire execution:

Although I like this book cover more (less embarrassing to read in public)

Couldn't even finish it. Promising storyline, very poor execution. The heroine was rediculous.

I really loved this story and it's filled with so much adventure, angst and passion. Loved the characters (except for the bad guys! lol), the plot and the writing.

Taylor is like no heroine I've ever read before, she's a mercenary who dresses like a man and carries a sword. She was 12 years old when her mother was burned at the stake on the orders of her father and not being able to ever forgive him, she runs away. In the 8 years that follow, with the help of a friend, she learns how to fight and how to protect herself.

Slane is a knight of honour and is on a quest to find Taylor. When he finally catches up to her, he is completely mesmerized and the last thing he wants to do is bring her to his brother as promised but he IS a knight of honour and he's betrothed!!! I enjoyed their interactions with each other, she so sarcastic and he so honourable. As they journey, passions flare while danger abounds around them and when secrets are revealed, all falls apart.

I had a hard time putting the book down, I found it that good!

Taylor is making peace with the past and finding love in the process!

Taylor is a feisty heroine, not afraid to meet any challenge and conquer life on her own terms. Slane is tasked with bringing her back, but he wasn’t prepared for the way she would challenge everything he holds dear. These two embark on a swash-buckling love story that is truly life-changing, and it was an absolutely joy to read.

I loved everything about this wonderful romance. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

this story had so much action in. Slane was a girl that had to watch her mom get burned alive by her father and it caused her to run away from home. She sets out for adventure that will hold you attention and its hard to stop reading the story. Putting it down was not an option for me. it has love, hate, fighting, castle and of course a women that needs no man to take care of her.

I’m hooked! The less than perfect ratings here are not at all what I’ve found of Laurel O’Donnell’s novels. The stories are adventurous and hard to put down. It’s easy to get invested in the characters and no two story is alike....thoroughly enjoyed this novel!

    Conflicted Honor

What a ride! Slane is a man of utmost honor and Lady Taylor Sullivan is no lady. But their story of utmost love love and fulfillment is gratifying. Sigh!!!

    Outstanding

Fantastic writing and believable characters. Yes I would read more of Laurel's work. And no errors! Or I was so caught up in the adventure to not notice. 😉

Another book from my teenage years with a female warrior that I hoarded like a DRAGON because they were hard to find and I was in love (still am) with all things female warrior.

I don't like Slane. He keeps going on about his honor, the knight code, ect, but continues to lead Taylor on; then act like he wasn't doing anything and he doesn't know why she's confused or hurt. Slane acts like he didn't betray or mislead Taylor, he's convinced himself that he's done no wrong; at least until it smacks him in the face.

That's called gaslighting folks. I wish we had gotten more of the relationship between Taylor and Jared. I will keep my fond teenage memories, but the book will be going.

    Captivating read.

  • Samantha Garman

Promising story, but the language was too modern. Using words like "Okay". Also, it just ended without a lot of wrap up.

  • Nancy

Though the book's basic plot was a good one, the use of modern English & modern slang terms in 14th century England was very distracting.

  • Naomi Impellizzeri

I thought this was really good, I loved the heroine- she was amazing!
Didn't love it as much as I liked The Angel & the Prince but it was still great :)

  • Ann Gonzalez

I liked this story. It had a good story line. The beginning moved fast and the end seemed to go to slow. The characters were likable, but I didn't feel that connection with them.

  • Anne

A well done read with a scrappy heroine and a valiant knight. I enjoyed it and can recommend it.

Great Medieval tale! Pick this story up if you enjoy Medieval Romance.
