Little Miss Chatterbox (Mr. Men and Little Miss) Reviews
-
Little Miss Chatterbox’s most apparent attribute is her ability to talk and talk. She searches for a job that will allow her to channel her talkative nature into a suitable, useful, and positive role. After some trial and error, she finds the perfect position for her temperament.
I like how the story illustrated but did not dwell on the negative aspects of being too chatty, and instead demonstrated how what might be perceived as a less than favorable quality can be utilized to one’s advantage in a successful and positive way. -
Wow! Miss Chatterbox can really talk. She tries to get several jobs but a customer will come in and she will talk with them until the place closes and they never get to withdraw money or order food. She is fired from each job all week. She does find a job at the end of the week suited for her. She is on the phone giving the time each second of the day so she can talk and talk.
We get to go back to Happyville again. When you talk this much, you never listen and you are simply talking at people. I find that so exhausting when a person does that. Northern Exposure did an episode about that. The mom was doing this and she found a peace watching an eagle and after that she could hold her tongue. It was a great episode. I loved that wacky show. It was near perfect. Anyway.
The nephew wanted to throw the book at me. He’s tired of these Little miss, but we read it anyway. Mr. Happy and Mr. Greedy and Mr. Uppity all play a nice role in the story and that perked him right up. So he didn’t completely hate the story. He gave this 2 stars, almost 3. -
There's something extra enjoyable when other characters in the
Mr.Men/Little Miss universe turn up in different books.
This one also had a much nicer message than her brother's Mr. Chatterbox's story.
Little Miss Chatterbox's constant talking in her various new roles sees familiar faces leaving empty-handed.
Despite constantly getting fired from different jobs, Little Miss Chatterbox's determination to find something more suitable finally paid off. -
The 'Mr Men' and 'Little Miss' books are so simple yet so effective. I love the way that all the characters are linked and how characters pop up in other stories!
The books are great for encouraging young children to read because they are interesting, have a variety of simple language and are short enough that young children don't get bored! Children love collecting all the characters too. -
Ah, Mr Men and Little Miss, how wonderful you are!
These books made up so much of my childhood. No matter what I would go ahead and pick one up. I worked my way through them all a couple of times. Each one has a wonderful story for the child to engage with, each character being fun to read.
Everyone has a bias for their favourite character, yet every book is delightful. -
Children and adults alike love the children's books written by Roger Hargreaves.
They are not expensive and I had lots of fun with my children building a library of these wonderful stories. Recommended. -
I absolutely loved these Mr Men and Little Miss books. I remember getting them from my granny every week. There was so much from these simple characters, I remember filling my little bookshelf with all these books making sure I had got them all in right order. I wish I still had these books but somehow most of them got lost with many house moves or my mum gave the rest away. If I ever have kids, I will make sure they get the chance to experience these wonderful, colourful books.

"Have you ever heard about somebody being able to talk the hind leg off a donkey?". Hysterical. A little reminiscent of the SNL H. Ross Perot parody. I enjoyed these more than my son, Salo, 15 months. I will probably not revisit the Little Miss and Mr. series with my son. Some parts of the stories are dated and they are for older children. They are more for me to enjoy for sentimental reasons.

My family bought me a Little Miss Chatterbox doll as a joke a few years ago and it came with this book. I found it the other day so I thought, "Why not read it?"
So, I did and after I was done I found that I actually quite liked it! It was quick, funny and cute and I'm sure any little kid would enjoy having this read to them. -
Can Little Miss Chatterbox find a job that allows her to chatter on and on and on and on and on and on and on...?
Not one of my favorites. Maybe because my dad could be called Mr. Chatterbox and I know what it's like to wait while someone talks on and on and on and on and on and on.... -
Fun read-aloud series - with a moral.
-
I grew up loving these little bitty books. i how i love this book
-
What was I expected from chatterbox but to be so talkative!! can't imagine my self passing her by and say hello for I'm sure I'll remain then in my place till evening. Still, I like it.
-
I guess there really is a suitable job for everyone.
-
Little Miss Chatterbox is the best book out of the Mr Men and Little Miss series I've read so far. It's colourful and has a fun storyline.
-
Oh gosh the memories. I loved this character when I was little as I completely related to it haha!
-
Best book I've read for ages ;)
-
I did not like this book because I do not like to chat. I also did not like this book because Little Miss Chatterbox chatted a lot.
-
What an adorable little book. Just goes to show that no matter what your personality, there’s a place in the world just for you.
-
very quirky, whizzed through the book but honestly reading it left me a little exhausted - felt like little miss chatterbox really did chat my ear off

I am the youngest of four children. My father was fond of saying that when each of us were babies, he wondered what our voices would sound like when we learned to talk, and what sort of things we might say.
"It was the same thing with you," he would say. "I wondered about you, and then one day you started talking. And talking. And no matter what we did, we couldn't get you to shut up."
My nickname was Little Miss Chatterbox until my mid-twenties.
All of the Little Miss and Mister books take me back to the cheerful, closet-sized Children's Room of the Page Public Library but this one is forever my favorite. While I feel like some of the characters LMC talked to didn't appreciate how many interesting things she had to say and how lucky they were that she really wanted to talk to them (I might be projecting a bit), I love that she found an outlet for her enthusiasm. I like to think that she went on to have a long and successful career and won employee of the year forever, and that no one ever suggested she take Ritalin (I am definitely projecting). -
The Mr Men books becomes the little miss books as my marathon of opp shop purchases continues and this is just as good as the Mr Stories as we get the tale of Miss Chatterbox. Another fun read from this universe.
Let me talk about this some more, I can be a right little chatterbox about this book (see what I did there) anyway thank you captain obvious, this was a re-read as I work through all of the little m miss books and this was really a book worth talking about (again really?)
Little Miss #13 -
I love this series of books and I love how in the end the main character most often finds exactly what they need, in this case Little Miss Chatterbox finds exactly the right job for her.
I think one thing that's great is the fact that the illustrations are simple and yet full of expression.
They are simple and short. Great for young readers. -
So you got fired when you talk a lot. Nobody likes a chatterbox. It can be extremely exhausting listening to her going on and on. This is a story about how miss chatterbox lost most of her jobs but finally got hired.
-
She's Mr. Chatterbox's sister and equally talkative.
