Simon Crandall is on the run for his life. The world he knew as a boy is gone, over-written by a biological holocaust that mutated millions into three wholly new species and killed millions more, toppling humankind from their place at the top of the food chain. Gone are the cities with their towering skylines. In their place was left only decaying ruins. Gone are the governments welding global power over life and death. People scrape by however they can. The world has entered into a second dark age.

The dissolution of society had many causes; chief among them was the emergence of neo-sapiens, three new races, and humanity’s competitors for dominance of the planet. He is on the run, because he had learned a dangerous secret. Something important, something he absolutely must tell his superiors. Something his enemies will stop at nothing to prevent him from revealing, the location of Carlton’s Chariot. This long sought after myth is rumored to hold the keys to a weapon, powerful enough to destroy the entire world.

Facing enemies and betrayal on all sides, he is determined to find this weapon first. But he is far from the only one seeking it. The survival of his people and possibly even the world hangs in the balance.

Afterworld Reviews

Finally got around to reading it.

You did good, Bee. Definitely not my usual reading material, but it kept me on the edge of my seat and interested all the way through. I loved the characters and the descriptions were excellent. I remember you being a fantastic storyteller(Pierre the Fighter Pilot is still a favorite), but you're also a very talented writer. Well done.
