Long before they can speak, babies are listening. And with this book of fourteen everyday sounds, babies and toddlers are encouraged to interact with parents, caregivers, and the noisy world around them in ways that widen their sensory awareness and expand their vocabulary. From a tweeting bird to clanging pots, a beeping phone to honking cars, the splash! of water to the sound of a kiss-- mmmwah! --this book is full of the sounds that fill a baby's day. Perfect for little hands to grasp, this is a delightful stand-alone or a lovely companion to Baby Signs .

This is a cute book full of common sounds that baby might hear. It’s a very cute beginner book for infants to learn about different sounds and where they come from.
I read this to my infant first, and he loved it. He smiled the whole book, and loved all the noises I was making. My toddler liked this book, too, but not as much as her younger brother. She helped me make the different noises in the book, so that was fun.
This book is short, and simple so that it kept my little’s attention, but was also, educational and fun! -
This was the first book we received from the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, after the introduction book. It has adorable illustrations and is really a sweet book. It's not a book with a story and is just sounds. Kinda hard to read to baby, but my little girl actually sat still through the book. It's cute.

3 1/2 stars.
If you read this book, I would definitely recommend the bilingual version. It’s a great way to match everyday sounds to their English (and Spanish!) words.
Ends with kisses from mom and dad! xoxo -

I read this to two different groups of toddlers. It was fun exploring different sounds with them.

Illustrations are a little too cartoonish for trying to teach a baby what something sounds like. I like that the version from Dolly Parton‘s library comes with Spanish sounds though.
-
Great for parents wanting to learn some words in Spanish too!!!
-
The tiny one enjoys the funny sounds! She give it 4 slaps out of 5 slaps.
