I'm so glad my watercolour teacher recommended this book! It was wonderful to see watercolour being used to create pictures that were so different from the norm - helped me to see that watercolour paintings don't always have to look the same/same/same/same. I loved seeing Trevena's Cubism-influenced style, and I wonder if she had draftsperson skills before, from her government planning job - because something about the style also reminded me of the way architects/draftspeople draw. I borrowed this book from the library, but I would like to purchase it and refer to it in the future.

A lot of guides to painting with watercolour tend to the twee. Many have a static approach that encourages copying without any sense of developing an individual vision. Shirley Trevor a is innovative, risk -taking and bold in her approach to the medium. Inspirational!
