“What do they do for my people? They don’t want us, except in extremity.”
actual rating: 2.5/5
again another very short play but it was able to tackle a lot in it. i wish it was longer so that more of the relationships could be explored. but was an interesting take on race and war. -
A very short play - about five pages - that was published in The Crisis and only performed once (at the high school where Dunbar Nelson taught), this argument for why African Americans should fight in WWI is stilted, florid and unconvincing, but an interesting relic of its time.
