Actual Rating: 4.25
This was an engaging read. The story revolves around 4 kids: Judd, Vicki, Lionel, and Ryan. They were left behind during the rapture. In this installment, I thought the story was great. It continues with the 4 kids at Judd's house as their current residence. This story was more about Ryan and Lionel than Judd and Vicki. We see Ryan and his acceptance of the Lord. Also, Lionel trying to save his uncle, André.
I thought the characters were great. Judd is the oldest and I felt as the oldest of the group, he wants everyone to be alright. He is the leader of the group in a way because he has the ability to make the others listen to him. Vicki is the only girl, but I thought her character showed more maturity as she grew into her faith. Lionel was really brace in this book because he went into his house to save his uncle without a moment's hesitation. Ryan is still processing everything. He feels happier now because he allowed the Lord somehow in his heart. However, I think he could grow even further in his faith of God.
The ending was a bit of a let down for me. As a Christian, I thought the writing was powerful. The story was great, and engaged. I can't wait to see the journey that these kids have to go through. I am excited to see what is in stored. I feel like the stories will be more exciting. I can't wait to read Book 4 and the rest of the series. I can't believe I got 37 more books to read in this series. Overall, a great read. -
A Quickie Review
This third outing ups the ante with more intensity and the death of a character introduced in the first book. Though I didn't feel that it "kept me on the edge of my seat until the end," as the back cover said it would, it was still a good addition to the series. I'm curious as to where it will go from here.
Score: 4/5 -
This one was quite intense. Only Lionel and Ryan are focused on here really. The other two kids take a backseat for the entire book. This gives the readers a glimpse into the ugly side of people. We get to learn about when police will and will not step in in these end times. At least so far. We get to see when they turn their backs and those that step up. It was an interesting show. Although their methods all around in how they dept with kids was enough to raise my eyebrows. It has also left me extremely disappointed in Lionel's uncle and the choices he makes both before the main event and since.
-
This one was much slower paced, even though there was what should've been an intense scene in it. Lionel and Ryan are focused on more in this story. It ends abruptly, but I have the next one and will read that one soon.

This book followed the incident after they found out that the body they presumed Andre’s
wasn’t his. Judd, Vicki, Lionel, and Ryan decide to live together in Judd’s mansion. Judd soon takes charge as the eldest in the house/group. He then finds himself setting the same rules his parents did 2
weeks ago. Everyone agreed to curfew, christianity and church service, bible study, and daily private
meetings with Bruce Barnes but Ryan. Still skeptical, Judd offers him the ultimatum of falling into
the rules or having to find some place else to stay. After long contemplation and being scared to death
by a Chicago kingpin affiliated with Andre chases him causing him to hide out in his house and being
scared to death looking to Jesus and then gets saved. Then Judd and Lionel go to Lionel’s house to find
Andre’s girlfriend Talia wondering and crying for him. They later go to an apartment in which Andre is
found dirty, musty, and dusty and when prompted to clean up they leave to check on Vicki and Ryan
still in the car and then flames ignite in Andre’s apartment. While Lionel and Judd struggle to get
him down a 3 story apartment and soon find out he was shot in his artery he dies and they communicate
with an officer (Sergeant Fogarty) they figure a way to attempt to put LeRoy and Talia’s brother
Cornelius in jail. They spoon figure out who the Antichrist is and strives to warn people about him, the
end times, and the tribulation period. -
This book definitely had much more action in it, but still, I found it okay and I just wasn't as into it. I hope the next few books start to share how they are going to spread the word about what's happening. This book was about Judd, Vicki, and Lionel trying to influence Ryan into seeing the right way of things and to not delay in being with God. I feel bad because he is the youngest and has nothing to look forward to after this because he's now an orphan. I feel he will find the right way to go with these 3 older influences among him. Overall it was a good book and I will be finishing the series because I've held off on it for way to long.

An intriguing read about the end times, as these kids continue to face the news that they weren't ready when Jesus came back. Now they've got to stick together and try it make it through the horrible things to come.
There's a couple of cool little plots twists, a terrible fire to get your heart really thumping... and loss. -
This one is really good. I like how the religious stuff is kinda in the background and the books aren’t all about that stuff. It is crazy that these kids, who are 16 and younger, are helping get a killer arrested. They have a lot of guts doing that. And running into a burning building. That is crazy!
-
This book is good too. I have read up to book #31 int his series and than they are GREAT
Since there are 40 in the series I can’t remember this one very much. But all I have to say is that this is a great book that you’ll never want to set down. -
I'm surprised at how good this is. It has a very gripping scene where two teens run into a burning building to save someone, begging him to put his faith in Christ before he dies of a gunshot wound. Very powerful!
-
Decent series of books for kids and teenagers/young adults to read about a fictionalized account on what the author interprets will happen at the end of the world when Christians are raptured and what will happen to those left behind who get a second chance to believe in and choose to follow God.
-
Gets better and better with each book!
Excited to read book 4 to find out what happens next. Judd, Vicki, Lionel and Ryan are brave kids!
Recommend the series!
Not just for kids. I'm m 61 and enjoying it immensely. -
Review by C.M. : "Okay; gives new ideas to old beliefs. People like my grandma would like this. She's cool."

-
Wow
Much more action packed and left us on a pretty decent hook. I do wish the books were longer as I'm able to get thru them in around two hours. -
It's a good read, but not my favorite.
-
This is the best series yet!

The rapture has always been a topic of interest to me. I was interested when I heard about the Left Behind series, and that it was based on a group of teens. When I received the book series as a gift, I couldn't wait to start reading. I have read the first three books of the series and plan to finish it. This series is a fictional story based upon true events that take place in the last book of the bible. The Left Behind series written by Jerry B.Jenkins is based on the viewpoint of four young characters.
The third book "The Kids Risk Their Lives" has been my least favorite. The book is focused on one of the main characters Lionel's uncle. I was fascinated by how his uncle's friends negatively impacted all of the characters lives. The characters struggle to survive from Andre faking his death, to the teens hiding from Leroy. In the second book "The Search For Truth", Lionel believes his uncle is dead. Later in the third he realizes Andre is still alive. Leroy, one of Andre's friends finds out the kids know he is not dead. He then searches for them and comes close to finding the group many times. I thought it was interesting how Andre faked a suicide, and used someone else as his dead body. At the end of the book I was shocked to read of Andres's death. I thought the death was detailed and this was interesting to me. As I have read the book it has not been exciting to me. The first book "The Vanishings", was my favorite. I enjoyed hearing about the rapture and how much detail was put into it. On the other hand, I thought the third book was too detailed. The chapters seemed to never end which took out some of the excitement.
I would recommend the book to someone who is interested in the rapture. The book is based upon the bible, and if you had never heard of the rapture it would not make much sense. This book is more for children, I feel older readers would not enjoy it. I also recommend this book for a church youth group. I am excited to read the next book in the series. -
Yay, the third book of the series Left Behind! These books are truly amazing and you need to read them. Awsome book!
Ryan decides to prove to the group he is brave so he goes and spies on the people living in Lionel's house. He almost get's caught, but get's away just in time. After he tells everyone Andre may be alive, Lionel sets out to find his uncle. Talia Grey, who likes Andre alot, decides to take him to where he is. Judd tells Lionel that he, Vicki and Ryan will wait for him in case he get's in trouble. Andre is still alive, but one of his enemies finds out he is making contact with people. When Lionel leaves, the apartment bursts into flames. Lionel rushes in to save his uncle, and Judd runs after him. When they are inside, Vicki and Ryan, who are sitting in the car, see Leroy {Andre's enemy}. Vicki has some experiance driving even though she is not old enough, and tries to drive off when Leroy reconizes Ryan. Vicki almost hits a pole when Leroy corners them. She backed up and hit his car and sped off. Andre has beeen shot when the boys reach him.As they try to carry him out, firefighters arrive and help them. But two of the fighters get trapped inside. It is to late to save Andre. Lionel tells the police he thinks Leroy did it. When Judd hears this, he devises a plan to get them arrested.Vicki plays an attorney and calles Leroy telling him he can get money because the building his friend owned burned down. This part continues in book 4. Bruce tells everyone to turn on the t.v. because he thinks he's found the antichrist. Did he? -
Since the rapture Judd, Vicki, and Lionel have all received Christ. The only one who has not received Christ is Ryan. When Lionel discovers that his Uncle Andre is not dead like he is supposed to be, he is only in hiding he spreads the word until the man Andre owes money to discovers he is alive everything goes wrong. Will Ryan ever receive Christ? Will they be able to find Uncle Andre Before the killer finds him?
I thought this book was really good because it was full of mystery and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. The way how Lionel finds out his uncle is alive is great but kind of brutal at the same time. And the way Uncle Andre dies is really brutal.
If you are the type of person who likes reading realistic fiction, religious books then I recommend you read this book. -
4 kids are living through the Rapture. They all have recieved Christ except the youngest Ryan. The oldest Judd makes him do it. Lionel has to deal with his Uncle's suicide. He finds out he's really in hiding but the person he ows money goes after him. What will happen? Read the book.
This was great. It started off slow as it recapped the story but it ended up being a thriller. It leaves you hanging but that's because it's a 40 book series! Read them all.
I reccomed this to anyone. Make sure you have read the series before, if not it might not make sense
