This is the movie version of the original cat in the hat book by dr.seuss, its not nearly as entertaining or as endearing as the classic. Its pretty much "book based off of a movie" quality, it lacks heart and has big plot holes.

I really wish I never saw the movie version, because I still can't get Mike Meyers' voice out of my head as I read this story. It would have been a much better book in my opinion (although I love Dr. Seuss' clever rhyming).

Sally and Conrad are extremely bored while their mom heads out for the day to prepare for her party. But their day becomes anything but boring when The Cat in the Hat shows up on the doorstep!

when i was a little kid i used to read it to myself and to others and when i was even younger i had my mother read it to me it is such a cute little story for young children

Gotta love the classics. Yes, it's modernized but Dr. Suess will always be classics as far as I'm concerned.
