Get ready for another Sullivan bad boy to fall in love in the third book of Bella Andre's bestselling contemporary romance series!

Gabe Sullivan risks his life every day as a firefighter in San Francisco. But after learning a brutal lesson about professional boundaries, he knows better than to risk his heart to his fire victims ever again. Especially the brave mother and daughter he saved from a deadly apartment fire...and can't stop thinking about.

Megan Harris knows she owes the heroic firefighter everything for running into a burning building to save her and her seven-year-old daughter. Everything except her heart. Because after losing her navy pilot husband five years ago, she has vowed to never suffer through loving - and losing - a man with a dangerous job again.

Only, when Gabe and Megan meet again and uncontrollable flames of desire ignite between them, how can he possibly ignore her courage, determination, and beauty? And how can she deny not only his strong bond with her daughter.but the way his sweetly sensual kisses are challenging her to risk everything she's been guarding for so long?

This winter, if one - or both - of them aren't careful, they just might end up falling in love.

    description

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I wish I could say I loved it but the heroine, Megan, made that difficult for me. She fought her feelings for Gabe, the hero, almost the entire story, which may not have been so frustrating if there had been a bit more depth to the plot (these books are quick and simple reads, after all). As for the plot, it felt like whole storyline was the hero chasing the heroine and the heroine running from the hero.

For me, the book's saving grace came in the form of the wonderfully sexy hero, Gabe (I adored him) and the heroine's precocious 7 year old daughter, Summer. They were each great characters in their own right, but together they shined. I loved their sweet relationship. Their fun interactions brought some much-needed balance to the otherwise redundant plot.

I will say that even though the heroine, Megan, annoyed me, I don't think most readers will have a problem with her. I'm a "hero centered" reader and tend to have more patience for the heroes than the heroines. Not fair of me, but it is what it is.

All in all, I did enjoyed Gabe and Megan's story. Megan redeem herself toward the end and became the type of heroine Gabe deserved, which allowed me to close this book with a happy heart and a smile on my face.

This is freely readable here on Goodreads, and so are books one and two!!!!!!!!! Three FREE reads...awesome, Ms. Andre!!!

Somehow, I loved this book even though it is EXTREMELY formulaic for the Contemporary Romance genre. Maybe I just happen to love the formula...yes, I think that's it!

Gabe saves Megan and her seven year old daughter Summer from a fire in their apartment building.

Problem: Gabe won't date women who see him for his firefighting hotness, due to a cray cray ex girlfriend fixating on his hero status. And Megan already lost one husband to his daredevil ways, and has no intention of starting a relationship with another risk taker.

Solution: Seven year old precocious little Summer is half in love with Gabe already, and insists on bringing muffins to the fire station, then insists on pushing her mom and Gabe together as often as possible.

Formula: Man and woman spend time together unintentionally. They are extremely attracted to one another (because both are extremely hot), but both have issues that will keep them apart. After one hot and heavy night of passion, they try to part ways. But Mr. Man (Gabe) decides that he doesn't want to stay away any more.

    And the chase is on....

I adored Gabe for his tenderness. He's a big, brawny, tough guy, but he has such a soft spot for Summer. And he falls in love with not just Megan, but her daughter too. Summer remains a big part of the story throughout, and while there are a couple of times that there are conveniently placed babysitters, she isn't confined to the background. This is a family in the making, and my heart went pitter pat.

"How different would it be if Megan and Summer lived here with him? If all that color from their small apartment were in here? If their clothes hung in the closets and Summer's drawings were on his fridge?"

Awww, the man wants some kids drawings on his fridge!

Of course, that helps to win Megan over, by leaps and bounds. He loves her daughter, he loves her...what's not to love about him?

"Maybe it was the way he always made plans for three, rather than trying to pretend she didn't have a daughter."

Megan fights and fights, but of course we all know where all of that fighting leads. I love how she can't fight too hard...eventually, she says screw it! Hot firefighter, love me!!! And the cave man claiming NEVER gets old.

"Mine." He was crawling up over her now, pressing her aainst the pillows. "You're mine, Megan."

    SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I"M SOLD.

"You never told me how the story ends, Gabe." She held her breath, waiting for his response. His expresionheld all the love an desire she knew he felt for her. "It doesn't."

Le sigh! Sorry for the quote-y review, this was just full of 'em. I just really enjoy this series. I've missed the family dramas of contemporary romance series, the way you get to know everyone so well and stick with them throughout years of their lives. It's always sad for those series to end. Bella Andre has a slightly old school style of writing that brings back happy memories of why I love the romance genre...

    Happy Ending Guaranteed!!

    Wow, this is fabulous!

These Sullivan brothers are just amazing. They're all so thoughtful, protective and just so damn gorgeous, you can't help but be mesmerized by them. This is Gabe Sullivan's story the sexy, hunky, extremely adorable, sweet, irresistable, thoughtful, caring firefighter! *sigh* After saving the life of Megan and her daughter Summer in an apartment fire, he finds it hard not to cross the boundary he has set, not to fall for his rescue victims. The attraction he feels for her just comes alive on the page. So, so good!

    Gabe - Bella Andre

Bella Andre sure knows how to write believable and wonderful stories, that will have you hooked in no time.

Here is what I feel when I read Bella Andre's book. Sitting on the beach/ rooftop/ favorite reading chair and just stared at the view. Everything is peaceful. No phone ringing, no social media. No internet. Just me and the view. Listening to the air breezes through, day dreaming about a very very perfect moment.

Like there is this handsome, alpha male, rich, sexy and suddenly just available for me. Having that insta lust/ insta love without knowing why or how. That kind of world where no trouble/ problem to solve. No loneliness either. That is what summarize about this book. I think I read 4 books in this San Fransisco series.

After a mix books ranging from bad, DNF, dark, twisted, confusing, heart breaking books, sometimes I do need that perfect book where I can just read without thinking. Like a book vacation.

Another wonderful book in the series about the Sullivan Family. This story is about Gabe, the fire fighter in the family of 8 siblings. He ends up saving Megan and her seven year old daughter from a dangerous fire that has broken out in their apartment building. Once again, A Sullivan falls hard and fast for a woman, and Gabe is so impressed with the courage Megan shows while they were fighting for their lives to get out of the scorching hot flames. Both Megan and Gabe feel a strong attraction to one another; but for reasons of their own they fight that magnetic pull towards one another. Meanwhile, Megan's little girl has fallen in love with the hero who saved their lives, and she ends up playing matchmaker for her mom and Gabe. Will this couple be able to overcome their fears in order to give themselves a chance at happiness? Or will their fears keep that strong wall that is built high around both their hearts?

This story gives lots of warm fuzzies, especaiiy when Megan's daughter and Gabe interact with one another! It is an entertaining read, and what I like to think of as a fun loving, light romance. The sex is hot with a taste of kinky on the side! This series just keeps getting better and better! The next book is about one of the twin sisters; Sophie, and she is a librarian who is usually pretty quiet and goes with the flow. Something tells me she will pull out all the stops in order to get a very close family friend to notice her! I can't wait to see how her love story wil play out!

  • Elena R a.k.a. Lunies R

Wow!! These Sullivan brothers really have a womanizing charm! I totally love their endearments. "You're Beautiful" is one that makes my heart flutter. Yeah it may sound cheesy but it's totally different coming from their flaming mouths. Hawt!

Oh! Gabe and Megan are just fooling themselves. Hmmm... Just Friends? NOT likely. Their magnetic pull to one another is unbelievably irresistible.

Megan being a single mother after losing her husband due to a tragic accident while he was on job, swore she would never get involved with a man with a dangerous, deadly career, that puts him at risk of dying as her husband did and left her singly alone to take care of her daughter.

Well what kind of luck does Megan Have?

Gabe Sullivan is a man that does love his job as being a Firefighter and puts his life on the line to save others everyday. His motto is to save lives and move on. One thing he never ever does is get involved with his rescuing victims.

    Well never say never.......

Gabe rescues Megan and her daughter Summer during a fire in her apartment building. During the fire and the encounters they have afterwards. There's no denying the sparks that fly between them. The only issues running through their minds is "there's too much at risk." Are either of them ready to live lives they swore they would never get involved in, no matter what the circumstances are? Only one way to find out....... Get yourself a copy.

Don't let the covers to this series fool you. Yes, the stories are contemporary romance but at times it had me second guessing if I should put them under my " Erotic Romance Shelves" There's definitely lots of sexy bits in every book. Gotta love it! Each novel has it's own unique plot and style of writing. And every novel seems to hook me straight from the start. I hope the author can provide more novels to come in this series. I'm not done just yet. They're 3 more brothers and 2 sisters to go. I can hardly wait for their stories!

  • Andrea

    DNF after 50%

Firefighter who won't let himself fall for another woman he rescued from a burning building because the one time he tried things did not end well meets woman who won't let herself fall for another man with a dangerous job because he could die at any moment, just like her husband did. Not my cuppa. Also, there was this:

She had on no makeup, no jewelry, and yet where other women would have been plain, Sophie was undeniably beautiful.

Uhm. Is she saying women with no makeup are plain? Sounds like that to me...

And then, before she realized what was happening, he was lifting her into his arms and carrying her over to the bed. "I don't want your legs to give out when you come for me," he explained in a matter-of-fact voice.

Said with a wink, that *might* be cute if you're into that sort of thing, but I'm not, and it just pissed me off.

She shouldn't have had the fantasy at all … What they were doing was so forbidden - so far outside the realm of the "normal" sex she'd ever permitted herself to have-

He's watching her touch herself, in case you were wondering…

Also, meddling family members are cute, and six-year-olds who manipulate their mother into going places the kid knows they will meet the hero are precious, and other people saying "you know your brother went to her house and fixed her flat tire?" induces a cute reaction in the hero where his vision goes red and he marches over to a woman he barely knows to inform her that his brothers are off-limits!

Oh and then there was this:
Gabe had always loved women. Their smooth skin, their sweet scent, the sound of their laughter. He'd lost his virginity in high school and hadn't had much of a break since then … But for all the women he'd shared a bed with, sex with Megan felt completely different.

I may not be the target audience for this, so no rating.

    March 2019 Review:

This was a fantastic read. This is my fourth time reading this book. I still love it. The story and the characters are incredible. The Sullivan guys really know how to love and respect the women that they fall in love with, which in turn makes me love them more. Gave is no exception. He is a firefighter, but he is family-oriented and compassionate. He is a sweet guy who cares for people especially Megan and her daughter Summer after saving them from a fire. Megan is widow and is not looking for love, yet she finds Gabe. Their chemistry is amazing. The ending was so good. I loved every minute of it. I can’t wait to re-read this series again. Overall, an amazing read.

This was an incredible read. I love the Sullivans series. The writing and the characters are so amazing and I just love reading this series every year. I loved Gabe and Megan's story. This is a second chance Love story. Megan lost her husband, David in a plane crash and vowed to never love a man who has to risk his life for the job he does. However, that changes when Gabe comes into her and her daughter, Summer's lives.

Gabe is the 28 year old Sullivan of the San Francisco Sullivans who is a firefighter. Megan is a single mother of a 7-year old named Summer. Summer and Gabe have a amazing bond and I love them together they are sweet and adorable. Gabe and Megan have amazing chemistry. This book proves that love can come around more than once in your life. I can't wait to read Book 4 - I Only Have Eyes for You. Overall, an amazing read.

    December 2015 Review:

I loved Gabe and Megan's story! I really enjoyed the first two books in the series by Bella Andre but this one was even better. This book has brilliant characters, a great love story and some sizzling scenes! Also, it contains an adorable 7-year-old girl named Summer! She is great! Can't wait to read Sophie & Jake's story in I Only Have Eyes for You! Overall, an amazing read.

  • Joy (joyous reads)

The third book to the Sullivans series is the story about a couple of people who are afraid to take chances. While Gabe, a firefighter, dealt with the dangers of his job on a regular basis, Megan spends her life afraid to take any risks: safe job, safe boyfriends. Ever since her husband died while serving as an air force pilot, she's taken painstaking means to protect her daughter and her heart from ever going through that fear and pain again.

Gabe on the other hand will never risk getting involved with someone whom he had rescued again. Burned by a former relationship with one, he couldn't stomach being a hero in their eyes only to be disappointed to find out he really is not. And as much as they can't deny how intense and immediate their attractions were, they have to weigh out the risk/reward of pursuing it. In the end though, would it be enough?

All right. So I didn't really enjoy this as much as I should have. There's something about the lack of chase that bothered me. And I'm a huge fan of this whole dynamic. I love reading about a man who'd been brought to his knees by the woman he'd been chasing. I think it was because they gave their fair share of chasing one another and that there wasn't much challenge on both sides. I also wasn't convince of each other's qualms and reservations as to why they shouldn't be together. I mean, I get their fears but I guess they weren't very convincing as to how deep their respective fears were and as such, I couldn't sympathize.

Regardless, though. I'm falling more and more in love with this series. Bella Andre's writing truly grew leaps from the first book, culminating to the third. Romantic scenes, sex that is sensual and not borderline pornographic is still the major allure of the book. On top of that is the ever present familial love between siblings that will have you looking forward to their stories.

“Say it again, Gabe. Please.” His hands moved from hers to her face , so strong and gentle, his thumbs caressing her cheeks. “I love you.” His mouth moved to hers, and he emphasized his declaration with a kiss that said the exact same thing.

I am totally loving the Sullivan clan! Bella Andre knows how to write the perfect blend of sweet and super sexy.. I loved Gabe and Megan together and her little girl Summer was just icing on the cake. One thing I really have loved about this series so far, is that in every book we get a glimpse at the next couple and already have a background on them and the epilogue's kind of start us off on the next couple's story. Make's you want to dive on in to the next one. So I will!

You both deserve forever this time. Let me be that forever.” Tears ran down her cheeks. “Forever,” she whispered.....

    Under the Covers

Megan Harris and her daughter, Summer are caught in an apartment fire and seek safety in a bathtub as fire, smoke and debris surround them. Huddled together, Megan covering her child with her body is how Gabe, the firefighter of the Sullivan family finds them.

But despite the obvious reasons to be scared and distraught, he sees these two fire victims and immediately admires Megan’s strength and courage in such a situation. Putting her daughter’s needs before hers, Megan walks on her own two feet to escape the fire that almost stole their lives.

Gabe is astounded, never witnessing such a show of strength from a woman before. However, just as he gets the mother and daughter out of the fire and into safe quarters, a beam hits him upon the head and knocks him out.

Megan owes her life, and more importantly, the life of her daughter’s to this firefighter, so when she learns that he had been injured while risking his own life to save theirs, she goes to see him in the hospital. Sparks fly and chemistry ignites. There is nothing half-measured in a Bella Andre book.

I was pretty impressed by how Ms. Andre captured my attentions in this book. From the very first page, I was hooked by the suspense and action, the thrill of the hero and the sensitivity and emotional aspect to the storyline.

Megan has had a hard past. Her husband died in a plane accident, so now living with Summer and raising her on her own is a challenge that Megan finds difficult, but also rewarding. But it is for this reason that Megan is so hesitant to open her heart fully to Gabe. His job requires him to put his life in danger each day and Megan’s heart can’t accept the fact that he may never come back home to her.

Traveling this distance takes time and I think Ms. Andre did a great job of showing that emotional journey for Megan. There were instances where the author mentions tiny bits of earlier in the book and I was surprised to think how long ago it felt because so much happens emotionally in this book that you wonder how Megan could come so far from where she was in the beginning of the book.

What I really loved about Megan was the fact that although she wasn’t sure about Gabe and how their relationship could work, she was still sure of herself.

    This quote displays this perfectly:

“You can’t date my brother,” he growled. “Any of my brothers.”
    “What are you talking about?”
He advanced on her even as she backed up to get away from him. “Zach. He went to your house on Sunday.”
    “He fixed my flat tire.”
“I’ll bet that’s not all he wants to fix.” He had her almost pinned against the wall by then. “He’s going to ask you out. The answer is no.”
Surprise turned to outrage in a flash of her green eyes. Instead of continuing to retreat, she was the one advancing on him this time. “I’ll say yes if I want to.”

Resisting Gabe is a hard task, but Megan has been burned many times in the past. Despite that, she’s still a strong woman who guards her heart well and does what she can to protect her daughter, Summer. I have to respect that.

That quote also displays another thing I just had to include in this review. Gabe Sullivan – the newest addition to my hottie harem. Wow, I adored Gabe! He was the perfect blend of the good guy, the real-life firefighting hero and the downright sexy Sullivan that he is while not on the job.

Megan and Gabe sizzle off the pages, getting down and dirty in some pages while lifting spirits and creating laughter in others.

Here’s just a taste of what to expect...

“Show me, Megan,” he said in a husky voice. “Show me how you like to be touched.”

Now if that doesn’t make you want to go out and grab this book, then I don’t know what else to say to convince you. This book really had it all. Family, friends, love and passion. I adored everything about this book!

I’m only three books into this series, but this one was a huge miss for me. It’s sad, really, since I really enjoyed book 2. This one, though, just really missed the mark.

My biggest complaint about this book was that I just did NOT like Megan at all. I thought she whined all the time and was just boring as all else. She kept going on and on and on and ON about how she couldn’t be with Gabe, but then she jumped right back into his arms the first chance she got. Way to stick to your guns, lady!

Another complaint of mine were the sexy scenes. Since Megan was so boring, the sexy scenes were super vanilla and extra boring. Not my style at all.

Oh…..and ANOTHER thing…I couldn’t stand the kid! I don’t remember her name, so we’ll just call her the kid. She didn’t ACT like a 6-year-old. She acted more like a 13-year-old bratty child. There was huge confusion about the kids age.

On the bright side, I liked Gabe. However, the author sort of made him seem like a boring old man relationship-wise. He was just kinda….meh…by the end of it.

Overall, I was not a fan of this book /=

This series gets better and better with each Sullivan sibling. Gabe was a total hottie and I loved his character. Bella Andre is quickly becoming one of my faves.

This month I am reading a lot about firefighters. I loved Gabe and how he loved Megan. However, Summer was the star of this romance.

  • Claire - The Coffeeholic Bookworm

An apartment fire almost cost the lives of single mom Megan and her daughter Summer, if not for the courage and sheer focus of Gabe Sullivan, firefighter extraordinaire. But Gabe didn't want to credit everything to his job, because he had seen firsthand how Megan braved the fire and made sure her daughter could make it out alive. Both of them were heroes in their own rights, and that's what made them more appealing to me.

Gabe had his Firefighter Dating rule - never date fire victims, especially the ones he helped rescued. One past experience had him burned so bad, now he was a little extra careful when it came to women. Megan had vowed never to date a man who could die anytime in his line of job. Her deceased husband would only remind her the perils and worries and heartaches she would always have. And then there's Summer. She didn't want her daughter to go through that again.

So far, Gabe is my favorite among the Sullivans.. I've got a soft spot for firefighters and single mothers, and most specially, to a cute little girl named Summer. I loved how their story slowly developed, started out as kindle and soon burned into a glowing fire and ended with a magnificent explosion of fireworks. Literally and figuratively. My heart warmed at the wonderful image these three characters painted - full of passion, caring, love and fire.

Trust Bella Andre to come up with a family that's so easily loved and never easily forgotten. The stories just kept getting better and better. I'm glad I decided to continue with the Sullivan series, every member of the family was getting more delectable and admirable by the minute! (And yeah, just a question for Miss Andre, what's up with the brothers and bath tubs, anyway? Seriously makes me want to get my own bathtub in my house, too!) Oh well, I just can't help falling in love with this family, indeed!

It's official. Bella Andre is my crack. Seriously. With each book she hooks me just a little bit more and I fall even harder for the Sullivans. Can't Help Falling in Love...yeah, perfect name for the book. From the very first page Gabe and Megan had me. Their harrowing first meet as he rescues them from a fire, the spark and how hard they resisted each other, the steamy bits and the sweet moments. It all came together for one knock out read and is just what I look for in contemporary romance.

I loved Megan and her daughter. Usually kids are a no-go for me in books because they just don't seem their age but Andre nailed it. Summer was the perfect 7 year old. She's spunky, resilient, wide open honest and knows what she wants. And Megan. I felt for her. She lost her dare devil husband years ago and has played it safe ever since. So falling for a man who constantly puts his life on the line was hard for her. I loved her struggle. Seeing him knock down her walls and take a little risk was so much fun and on more than one occasion so incredibly naughty. I loved it.

And oh Gabe. The man is swoon-worthy. He's gorgeous. A fireman. Strong, brave and fierce about what he does. And he made all my girly bits stand up and pay attention. LOL I have such a weakness for men who are good with kids and seriously Gabe. Oh my god. He was the sweetest, cutest thing when it came to Megan's daughter and spending time with her. So damn sexy. Okay, he's just sexy in general...

"I could take you now, could be inside you in seconds." his voice was rough at her ear, his words blunt and oh-so-sexy, making her heart race with wanting what he was describing. "Just like this, up against the wall, your legs wrapped around my hips, with you coming around me as I take you hard and fast."

Yes! That was what she wanted. What she needed.

Only, instead of doing any of those things, he stilled his hips against hers and lifted his face from that spot beside her ear where he was filling her head with naughty visions. His blue eyes seared her with heat.

"But that's not how we're going to do this tonight, Megan."

Her eyes widened at the confident statement. "But what if that's what I want?" came from between her lips, barely above a whisper.

"You'll want this more," he said, and then he was bending his head to lick into the hollow of her shoulder.

    Dayum! Right? Whew.

The great thing about Bella is she weaves just the right amount of details about the previous couples into the storyline so you know what's happened before and know what's going on with them now but it's not over the top. It fits the story and flows nicely. So you can really start anywhere in the series (though they're really all freaking good so you shouldn't skip any of them--just sayin).

Can't Help Falling in Love was sweet and sexy, heart warming and will make you do that girly sigh thing more than once. It's all about Megan, Gabe and getting past their fears. There are some bits that'll get your heart pounding (either from dangers at his job or, well, those naughty bits that I mentioned) too. It's a comfortable read you won't want to put down. So grab a snack before you start and dig in.

    Happily Ever After - Reads

There are a few plot set ups that make my “AWWWWWE” reaction go through the roof; one of them being heroes and little kids. Enter Gabe, the Sullivan firefighter who rescues Megan and her young daughter Summer from their third story apartment in a fire that was out of control. They make it out alive with a few injuries that land Gabe in the hospital. Megan and Summer go to the hospital to check on Gabe and thank him for risking his life for them and Gabe is so taken with Megan he can’t look away from her. But, he’s been burned in the past, dating a woman he rescued and breaking up with her turned out to be disasterous. Gabe’s never going down that road again, so he comes off a bit rude to Megan, hoping to send her away and not be tempted.

What they didn’t plan on was a little match maker in not only Summer, but Gabe’s siblings, specifically his younger sister Sophie, who helps play a hand in getting these two to spend time together. Summer always wants to visit the fire house, taking the guys baked goodies she made, she works a ski trip in when Gabe just happens to be there at the same time (thanks Sophie for giving that bit of information to Summer) and little by little, not only is Summer working her way into Gabe’s heart, but Megan is too.

Megan has her own reservations about dating a man who has a dangerous job. Her husband died when Summer was two in a plane crash. He took an unnecessary risk and it cost him his life. Megan vowed to never love a man whose job is surrounded by danger again, it’s too hard for her and too hard for Summer, who would of course become attached. But both Megan and Gabe’s worries don’t keep them apart and they slowly start to fall in love.

I found myself truly liking these characters, which doesn’t always happen! Yes, some of their reasons for not being a couple got a tiny bit frustrating when they wouldn’t just give in, but once they both committed, it made it all worth it. I loved getting the little bits about Gabe’s family, especially his sisters, the twins who can’t stop arguing and who both have personal issues going on behind the scenes.

Gabe is a dedicated, smart firefighter, who knows what he’s doing and doesn’t take life threatening risks. Once Megan sees this and accepts him for who he is, it’s impossible for her to not fall in love with the guy. For Gabe, once he realizes that Megan isn’t his ex-girlfriend who will develop a case of hero worship after being rescued, he’s better able to open himself up to the possibility of love with Megan and the love for Summer is a no brainer. She had him wrapped around her little finger from the start.

This was another Sullivan book that I flew through. I can’t get enough of this family and these overachieving siblings.

Gabe Sullivan is a firefighter who loves women. He’s not a complete player but he’s not afraid to go for a woman if he’s attracted to her. He does have a rule though: no dating women he’s rescued in fires. He went that route one before and it did not turn out well.

Megan Harris is a widow and single mother whose husband was a navy fighter pilot. She’s dated since her husband’s death five years earlier but the men were always had “safe” jobs – 9-5 desk jobs. Megan’s husband was a thrill seeker and she made a rule after his death: never get involved with a man who has a job that isn’t completely safe.

When Gabe saves Megan and her daughter Summer from a burning building and then meets her afterwards he feels a connection to her that has nothing to do with the fact that he saved her life. Megan feels the same connection but since the man runs into burning buildings constantly she would pretty much say his job isn’t anywhere near safe enough for her. The pair try to stay away from each other but find that they just can’t – especially with Summer sneaking around trying to arrange “accidentally” bumping into each other.

Gabe and Megan start seeing each other but at every turn Megan has doubts. Gabe says he loves her but how can she commit to a man that lives so dangerously? She’s fooling herself however and knows she loves him – she just doesn’t know if she can be with him for the long haul.
I have to say that this is my favorite Sullivan book so far. Gabe and Megan were just perfect together and while there was obviously a bit of conflict there it was between the two of them and their feelings for each other rather than anything external. I loved the fact that Gabe, after his initial misgivings, just went for it. He realized his foolishness and made his plan to win Megan over. She was definitely won over but even though she tried to hold herself back from him she really was a complete noodle around the man. She loved him, just not his job. Her final enlightening thoughts and realizations were an epiphany for her and their HEA just made me smile.

The series gets better with every book and I have to say I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the next story.

Megan Harris is a woman who avoid risks. Since her first husband died in a plane crash, leaving her to raise their toddler daughter, she does what she can to ensure she and her daughter won't have to deal with that type of heartache again. Unfortunately, she can't control everything and she and her daughter are caught in a horrible apartment fire hiding in the bathtub.

    Enter Gabe Sullivan, firefighter extraordinaire.

Gabe has always had a fascination with fire, so firefighting is the perfect fit for him. He never loses his cool in a fire, but when he rescued Megan and Summer during their apartment fire he was bound to break his rule of never dating a fire victim.

Megan and Gabe are perfect for each other, even if they fight their instant attraction for each other. Megan doesn't want to put hers and her daughter's hearts at risk on an adrenaline junkie who might not come home and Gabe doesn't want to be with someone who only sees him as her rescuer. But when the two of them stop fighting each other, they find that what they feel for each is much deeper and much stronger than anything they felt before.

Their road to happiness would have been much easier if Megan was able to let go of her past hurt earlier, but you can see how already losing one husband in a senseless accident would make one gun shy. The problem was, she wasn't really seeing past Gabe's job to the man who was responsible at work and would never purposefully jeopardize himself. Once she was able to do that, she was able to fully open herself to this wonderful man.

And ladies....Gabe is one hot man. For me, Gabe is now tied with Chase as the hottest Sullivan brother. He's funny, thoughtful, a fireman (hello!!) and sexy as hell. Who wouldn't love a man like that.

A fantastic story about two people burned in the past but learning that you can't paint everyone with the same broad brush stroke.

CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE was another great addition to the Sullivans! This is a great family series that is near perfect.

Fears are met and overcome in Gabe’s story as he falls in love with Megan Harris and her seven year old daughter, Summer. After a previous relationship he had with a woman he rescued went south, he’s been determined not to go down that alley again.

For Megan, falling for a guy who risks his life everyday isn’t in the cards after losing her husband and Summer’s father in a Navy pilot crash. It’s Gabe that reintroduces her to the world after being afraid of risks for the past five years.

Summer also plays matchmaker, with the help of Sophie who reconnects with Megan from their college days.

The story was a constant push and pull of them allowing a slip of their feelings come out and then a total collapse of their progress (mainly Megan). I really felt Megan personified her fears onto Summer, who didn’t seem to have any problem with Gabe. She fell quickly for him, actually.

Gabe first decides to put his fears to rest and pursues Megan with the typical Sullivan charm and respect.

I loved how he immediately took Summer in when thinking of dates for him and Megan. He instantly connected with her and never had ill will or distain to the fact Megan already had a child.

Overall, Megan got a little irritating to read about, but not being a mother, I can’t say if she was over rationalizing starting a relationship with Gabe, but surely you can’t teach your daughter to be afraid of losing someone you love.

The final fire really tested Megan’s resolve to give them a fighting chance. I honestly thought she was going to walk, but once she let her love for Gabe show her what she was missing about him and his work as a fireman, she finally found comfort.

I’m always surprised at the end when the next book is set up. I wasn’t expecting Jake and Sophie but I’m excited for Sophie to become a rebel.

I seriously keep thinking the brothers in this series cannot keep getting any hotter than the previous, however Gabe the fireman has proved me wrong with more than his flame tackling ways!

Gabe saves Megan and her daughter Summer in a fire. Gabe is an ultimate player who has been burned badly in the past by getting involved with a burns victim so decides despite the instant attraction to Megan that all they have have is a friends relationship.

Megan's husband was a navy pilot who was killed 5 years ago so knows better than to get involved with someone who risks their lives everyday for the job. Her heart would not survive another break like the last so they decide to keep their distance but her daughter has other ideas.

This book is very tender in moments with a passion undercurrent all the way through the story. Summer is a delight to get to know when she starts to try to match make between her Mum & Gabe as even she knows they are made for each other. Another fab read! Onto book 4..

Gabe’s story is a wonderful new installment to the Sullivan family saga. Megan and her daughter fit right in with the Sullivan’s and Gabe’s love brings them all together. There is definitely undeniable heat between Gabe and Megan, often leaving you singed from their passion. I loved reading the emotional and heated meeting between them, but even more I loved seeing how the love they developed slowly brought them both out of living in their pasts and gave them a chance for the future they deserve together. I enjoyed seeing all the family, those who have already had their romances and getting glimpses of the next sibling to fall. I can’t wait to find out what’s happening with Sophie in particular. Bella Andre's done it again.

Listened to on audio. Narrated by Eva Kaminsky.

I liked this but I must admit that I struggled to stay interested and I had to rewind the audio several times because my mind had wandered off on to other things. I not sure why this one didn't keep my attention, but I was a little bored. Maybe it was less exciting than the last book or perhaps the characters were less compelling...I don't know for sure.

    Still enjoyable though.
