How to survive a break up -- swear off men for a year.
How to celebrate a successful year long man cleanse -- treat myself to a solo tropical vacation.
It's me time on my single-versary, so you'll find me snorkeling, sight-seeing, and zip lining by the sea. No man companions needed, thank you very much.
Until the hot, hunky and charming adventure tour guide shows up at surfboard yoga. And Caleb's got me thinking about new uses for downward facing dog.
But indulging in an island fling that'll surely put me on the path to heartbreak again is definitely not on the my single-versary agenda.
At least, it shouldn't be on the agenda.

Great Beginning to a New Series.
Sometimes when you see the word novella, it can be a turn off as you feel it might not be a well balanced story, and that’s definitely not the case here. It was fun and flirty, with two intelligent and witty characters. It’s the perfect vacation book about a heroine on vacation.
Being a rule follower, I understood completely why they had set up parameters in their personal and professional life. And I also wholeheartedly agreed when they broke those rules for a tropical tryst. Then I adored they took it further and back to the mainland.
This book was just what I needed in the holiday season. It made me smile and smirk, it took me away to my happy place - reading and Hawaii - and it wasn’t anything too deep that kept me from still being present with my family. The storyline was authentic and interesting and I’m looking forward to the next tale in the series. -
Historia corta. Bastante entretenida. Creo que hubiera dado para una novela más larga

This was a great little, albeit, short book. That was a shame because I really was enjoying the premise of the story. The ending/transition to the future was really abrupt and fast. I really wish that the author had made this into a full book because the potential was there.
I'm still a fan of this author but this was a near miss for me. -

My Single-Versary is a novella by the ever-talented, Lauren Blakely. You can read it as standalone but I do recommend reading it between My Virgin Replay and The Boyfriend Playbook. Skyler is part of an epic friend group included in this series.
After another failed relationship Skyler decided it was time to make herself happy by being voluntary single. Her first single-versary is here and she is ready to treat herself to a trip to Maui, one that coincides with her cousin’s wedding. Her plan was to sunbath, swim, shop, and hit some spas. That was until she decided that she needed to get out of her comfort zone. She was also continuing her single-dom. It seems the universe has other plans when she sees her tour guide…
Caleb loves life on the island. Adventure after adventure and he also gets to show others a good time. But not that kind of good time…rule #1 is not touching the clients. Or having flings with tourists. He was a rule-follower until he sees her. Skyler is a temptation he can’t afford. So, talking and adventures was it. He enjoyed it. Too much. Is breaking the rules a risk he wants to take after a few days getting her out of her comfort zone?
Will Skyler still be single when she leaves paradise?
This book was so much fun!! Skyler definitely goes on adventures I am afraid to go on. Maybe that will change for me one day. Anyway, Caleb is so sweet, swoony, and funny. Skyler is braver than she believes. Together, they are just fantastic and flirty and fun.
Quotes:
“You can do this, Skyler.” Caleb’s voice is close to my ear. “All you have to do is jump.”
“What do you hate most about clothes?”
“Shopping for them.” His gaze turns heated as he looks at me, “Sometimes wearing them.”
“Hmm…I can see you’ll be a hard one.”
“Hard indeed.”
“So, I have a thought.”
“I’m having several.” I tug her more firmly against me. “We should see if they match up.” -

An enjoyable read for a holiday/ vacation
The main character Skylar treats herself to a holiday after her one-year sabbatical. Skylar had sworn off men after a breakup. The no men rule soon comes to a stop when she meets the hot tour guide owner Caleb.
Great characters and an easy read. 20chapters an epilogue and the first chapters to the next book in the series. each book can be read as a standalone -
This was a very basic kind of romance. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was bad, but it's very simple, there aren't many obstacles or much depth in the characters. You don't get to know about their past or their families and the subject of their past relationships is barely touched. But, if you want this kind of story, where you basically can read without much commitment to the plot, this might be perfect for you. It's cute, it's sexy... and you'll probably forget about it in a few weeks.

My Single-Versary is short, sweet, and oh so sexy! Another wonderful way to spend an afternoon, Lauren Blakely gives us the perfect way to end a great year of reading from her ever-expanding library of work. Featuring two great characters in Skyler and Caleb, it was great fun watching as they flirt their way into each other's lives when in fact, they are both on a hiatus from the opposite sex.
A Hawaiian escape for Skyler celebrating her one-year single-versary without men, the magic of the ocean, and all the tropical delights these islands offer cast a spell on her as she goes on adventures with excursion owner Caleb. These two are simply adorable together as Caleb gets Skyler out of her comfort zone and proceeds to fall for her in the process.
Breaking his own rule of never dating a customer, the spark is evident right from the start and I was thrilled that he did! As was Skyler as they fall into each other's arms both in and out of the bedroom and make a San Diego/San Francisco 'long-distance' relationship work.
This is just the beginning of these shorter love stories and I'm here for what Blakely has up her talented writing sleeve with Skyler's bestie's romance next.
4 stars! -
Not sure what to classify this as but it was definitely a short story in the concept that it wasn’t exactly a prelude, but I guess novella. We’ve gotten glimpses of Skyler and Caleb in passing throughout the “Happy Ending” series but it felt like Lauren just wanted to throw his story in the mix. It was short, but to the point. I enjoyed this, considering the lower reviews I’m seeing in it. My only complaint is that this wasn’t long enough. It was a great concept for a story and I loved what she did with it but I would have wanted more time spent in this story. What starts as a way to celebrate being single for a year, quickly morphs into a fling and then something more. While Caleb and Skyler don’t say I love you to each other in the story, it is a budding start to a beautiful relationship. It is the epitome of a vacation fling that gets prolonged. The story bought back Lauren’s carefree, flirty style and banter. It was nice to read this after reading a more subdued, quieter story. Normally I would elaborate more on the book but since it was pretty short, I will leave it like this. 5 stars for what the story was, how it was conveyed and thought out. It had the right amount of physical and emotional connection to me and I enjoyed reading about it.

My Single-versary is a novella full of adventure, laughs, flirting and fun. Skyler is on a single-versary. She made it a year without dating and rewarded herself with a trip to Hawaii. She's going to get out of her comfort zone and do things she thought she would never do. It's going to be just what she needed. Except for the hottie tour guide who's too sexy and flirty for his own good. She needs to resist the pull toward the sexy Caleb, but she doesn't want to. Caleb is a rule follower. It's served him very well in his life and business and he doesn't need to repeat his past mistakes. Skyler is just too fun, too pretty and perfect. He doesn't want to resist her though. Is it possible to want more after just five days? Can he change his own rules and go after what he wants? This story is short and lovely. I loved how Skyler did things even though she thought she would hate them. She pushed herself out of her comfort zone and was pleasantly surprised that she loved it all. Caleb is just so fun and sexy and loves his job. This romance will make you laugh, swoon and want to take an adventure vacation of your own!

I first listened to the audioplay adaptation of this book which was delightful. It's an Audible Original titled One Of Those Flings. It's a rewritten and cleaned up version of Single-versary—only dialogue and sound effects, like a radio play. That short little story was great and made me want to read the original book so here I am.
My Single-versary is a charming little novella with upbeat characters and no heavy angst. Considering this is only 89 pages, the character development is good, the main characters' relationship is pretty well defined and the story makes sense. It's an amusing little fantasy set in Hawaii. Skyler wants to break out of her comfort zone so she participates in an adventure tour and Caleb is her tour guide. We get more visuals than I would expect from a story of this length—schools of fish, waterfalls, surfing, zip lining, turtle watching, sunsets. It's a good quick read when you need something cheerful.
This was my first Lauren Blakely experience and I really liked the light happy feel to it. I look forward to reading and/or listening to more of her work. -
Quick treat
3.5 stars
This was a perfectly fine story about how you can turn a vacation rendezvous into more. What really made it enjoyable were Skyler and Caleb who were totally adorable as main characters.
Skyler is celebrating a year of no men. She needed a break to find herself and is spending the end of the year in Hawaii doing activities that would typically scare her (i.e. snorkeling, zip lining). But of course she’s tempted almost immediately by the guide for the excursions!
Caleb knows better than to fall for a client. It’s one of his key rules! However, there’s something about Skyler that draws him in and makes him consider making an exception for her.
Skyler and Caleb were cute. They both had ideas on what they should do but wonder if they’re too rigid in their thinking. Things move quickly in this novella but it doesn’t seem rushed. I might even stay with the series for the next book about Skyler’s friend, Katie! -
After a year off the dating game, Skyler is ready to reward herself with a tropical vacation right after her cousin’s wedding in Maui. She even decides to get out of her comfort zone and try things she’s not really a fan of, like water sports.
Caleb is on a mission to convince the newest addition to his latest tour that adventure sports are as enjoyable as the next thing, but he was not expecting the woman in question to put his rules of business in danger.
This is a short story, but Skyler and Caleb have the perfect amount of chemistry for a vacation fling. They click and connect since they meet and this is the perfect formula for yet another yummy read from Ms. Blakely.
5 delicious stars -
Lauren Blakely is one of my go-to authors. She expertly crafts a fun, witty, funny tale every time and My Single-versary was no exception. After crappy experiences with dating, Skyler decides to take a year-long hiatus from dating. To celebrate, she spends a week in Hawaii after her cousins wedding getting out of her comfort zone and doing things she wouldn't normally experience. This leads her to Caleb, the fun tour-guide/guide-company owner who helps her to embrace new experiences and to even enjoy them along the way. This story was short, sweet, funny, and thoroughly entertaining. A great, quick read!

Absolutely devour this book😍😍
I love this freaking story! It was so cute and really good. I've been missing this Lauren! Skyler is celebrating her single-versary on a tropical island. She is funny, beautiful, and smart. She decides to try something out of her comfort and when she meets him. Caleb run an business of adventure. He is sweet, handsome, and calm. He is straightforward and honest. Read about their journey to their happy ever after. The writing is captivating and amazing as the author. Amazing work again Lauren Blakely! -
A tropical romance
I loved this novella about Caleb and Skyler. Definitely made me miss going on holidays but also can’t wait for the rest of the series. I loved how Lauren wrote their story, it wasn’t exactly insta-love, they develop a friendship first because they have their own reservations. But in the end, they break their own rules for each other. Overall, it was a fun read! I can’t wait for Katie and Harlan’s story next. -
I loved this story between Caleb and Skyler!! She is self imposed single for a year. He owns his own adventure business. She is celebrating her single life and signs up for the adventure tours even though she is going to hate it because this is not the kind of things she like to do, but it turns out she is thankful she did because she never would of meet Caleb if she didn't. They meet and hit it off right away. They both break their own rules in the best ways. Loved this couple and their story!

I really enjoyed this quick read by Lauren Blakely! Skyler has sworn off men and dating for a full year. She's made it through an entire year and is ready to celebrate her single-versary in Hawaii. She's going for a family wedding but plans to enjoy some time for herself. What she doesn't plan on is catching major feels for her adventure tour guide! But when you look amazing and have a great personality to match, there's not much you can do!

Hang Ten
It's beginning to look like a sweet series from Lauren Blakely and this is the starter.
Skyler heads to Hawaii for a wedding solo she's totally ok with it cause she is celebrating her single versary which means no men in her life for a year.
Signing herself up for unique Hawaiian excursion she meets Caleb. Their adventure together helps her realize that she should take a chance on love.
Skyler bestie story is next. -
This was a very basic kind of romance.

Short and sweet with a tropical feel
My Single-versary is a wonderful short read.
With great chemistry, sass and the perfect Hawaiian setting, Lauren delivers another cute, entertaining and heartwarming story that's bound to leave you smiling and swooning (does any one know mouth-to-mouth?)
5 stars and a sunbathing sea turtle.
