Ultimate Revenge Reviews

Russell has tried to put his past behind him after going to jail for delivering a package. His wife waited for him, and they have a beautiful daughter together, yet revenge eats away at him. One day, he sees the man who gave him that package and then disappears after Russell is arrested. Russell plans what he considers justice. Although this is a sequel to "Love, A Tangled Knot," which I haven’t read, I had no problem following the story. As Russell succumbs to hatred and anger, he ventures into a realm from which he may not be able to escape. I was rooting for Russell that he would make the right decision when the time came, and he’d put that energy into his healing and family. Despite being a quick read, it was still rich in depth. The additional flash fiction section was a treat and made this a fantastic read that I can easily recommend.

“For 13 years, Russell has been searching for Joshua, whose lies and trickery landed Russell in federal prison.”
This is the mouth-watering premise of Eichin Chang-Lim’s ‘Ultimate Revenge’. Billed as a sequel to one of her other novels, this short tale – exploring the nature of vengeance and redemption, while getting deep inside the head of the central protagonist – can be read as a stand-alone.
This edition also includes some of the author’s micro-fiction, which is alternately smile-inducing, thought-provoking, touching and poetic.
If you haven’t tried Chang-Lim yet, this could be a good place to start. If you have, well then, the chances are you’ve probably already purchased ‘Ultimate Revenge’.

    Ultimate Revenge

Russel has been imprisoned for many years and suffers from melancholy and panic attacks, but he can only think of retribution. An eye for an eye; be careful what you wish for; after seven years, he received his freedom. Russel is fortunate to be reunited with the love of his life, Kayla.

Russel had a terrible taste in his mouth because vengeance consumed him and his life. The characters are vivid, and the story is a page-turner. I was delighted to read the end of the first tale; there was more reality of life short stories as a bonus.

All the stories are captivating and fast pace with intriguing twists and plots. I highly recommend the incredible book.

    Another winner!

Because I don't read the blurbs, page count, or anything else that may influence my thoughts before I read a book I was taken by surprise to find that this sequel to Love; A Tangled Knot (which I'd read earlier this year) was but a short story. As I was reading I kept wondering with what happened early on where the story could go from there. So when the story ended I understood! It was very good though. Incredibly ironic, but very good!

The collection of totally unrelated short stories that followed were also very good, with a few, The Note, and A Special Day nearly bringing me to tears!

All of the stories in this book were very well written and edited. This was the third book I've read now by this author and none have disappointed. I think everyone will enjoy not only this book but any others by this author!
