The stunning new picture book by presidential inaugural poet Amanda Gorman and Caldecott Honor-winning illustrator Christian Robinson.

You're told that
This won't work,
But how will you know
If you never try?

Presidential inaugural poet and #1 New York Times bestselling author Amanda Gorman and Caldecott Honor and Coretta Scott King Honor winner Christian Robinson have created a timeless message of hope.

Sometimes the world feels broken. And problems seem too big to fix. But somehow, we all have the power to make a difference. With a little faith, and maybe the help of a friend, together we can find beauty and create change.

With intimate and inspiring text and powerfully stunning illustrations, Something, Someday reveals how even the smallest gesture can have a lasting impact.

Something, Someday Reviews

  • Shirley Kiddo

I know this is mainly for children but it's perfect for adults who are still trying to find their way.

  • Sarah BT

I love Christian Robinson's art and it pairs beautifully with this poem. A lovely book about how a small act can create big changes.

  • Lisa Yee Swope

"You are told that this is too big for you.
But you’ve seen the tiniest things
    Make a huge difference."

Rosemary Wells (Max & Ruby) says that a picture book is meant to be read 500 times, and the poetry of Amanda Gorman, both inspiring and convicting, hits the heart and spurs you to action. Paired with the cut-paper illustrations of Christian Robinson, Something Someday is a powerful call to be the change.

  • Kier Scrivener

A lovely picture book confronting the doom we project on children. 'They say everything is too big' but we can all do small things, work toward a better day tomorrow even if it isn't life-changing in the moment it adds up. The illustrations by Christian Robinson are gorgeous.

We need hope in children's books. Not just in lollipops and unicorns but in the affirmation that reality too can be beautiful.

    Loved this one!

I knew I wanted to read this solely because of the creators, Amanda Gorman and Christian Robinson. Wow! Their combined talents and the way the poem and art weave together are perfection. Thank you Edelweiss for the Advance Reader copy.

What a beautiful book by Amanda Gorman and Christian Robinson. I was lucky enough to hear them both talk about this book at ALA this summer. It gives me hope that we have books out there like this one.

  • Cassie Sanders

I was able to listen to the 4 minute audiobook read by the author thanks to LibroFM's educator ALC program.

This was lovely, but it might be a case of needing the print in front of me to fully appreciate.

  • Abbigail

Sweet little book about how we can be hopeful and do something to make things better even if no one else is. A cute little book with a good message, but I'm sort of bored by the gardening/community garden symbolism.

  • Emily Haage

A hopeful story to share, probably best in a small group or one-on-one. Use as a prompt for kids to observe their world, think about what they want to change or help, and then take action.

  • Sharon

Even the smallest among us can sense when things aren't right, and despite their youth they want to help. They know excuses correct nothing, but hope and action will. Beautiful simple verses by Amanda Gordon are reinforced by Christian Robinson's illustrations.

A hopeful message of working together and making a difference. I had to listen to the audiobook after I read it to experience it in a different way. Don't miss out on Christian Robinson's amazing illustrations.

I was provided a digital review copy of Algo, algún día. Lyrical text paired with charming illustrations tell the story of a determined child who made the difference on a problem others had given up on. While the text is abstract, the images depict a child in a city clearing trash, partnering with other kids and adults, and ultimately creating some community garden space. The translation into Spanish reads well and the book is well suited for classroom discussion about community.
