From the moors of northern England to the cities of Western Europe, the poplars of the Thames to the sands of the Nevada desert, the poems in Kidland rise from ancient landscapes to confront a society in denial about its relationship with nature, memory, and destiny. On barrows and mountains, in yellow fields and green woods, Kidland offers up a radical, uncompromising vision of broken connections and darkening futures. Paul Kingsnorth is the author of One No, Many Yeses, an investigative journey through the anti-globalization' movement.
Kidland and Other Poems Reviews
-
man I like Kingsnorth and the idea of uncivilisation but he really pushes it into bro-tastic pseudo men's movement/Iron John nonsense here. A lot of the poems are great, though- there are just a few that left me with a bad taste.
-
Not really my kind of thing.
-
Apocalyptic poems from the founder of "Dark Mountain". Too much ideology, not enough poetry.
-
I love this collection, and can re read it without ever loosing my admiration of his ability and wordsmithery.
Stalker amazing poem. -
I like this collection. My favourite(s); Lost, The God of Birds, I do not want to hear about your baby.

Not my cup of cha. His book 'Real England' is brilliant but not sure if his poems are same standard. Will have to give them another go.
