On the one hand, this is a fairly detailed story about a specific place, and uses those details to set up the book's plot.
On the other hand, the book represents all of Canada using facts about Toronto and Algonquin Park.
The illustrations add alpine-styled mountains to the park, which is almost as insulting as leaving out the mosquitoes.
The incidental details about the RCMP are almost perfunctory, but I suppose that's part for the course for this sort of book.
If the authors had attempted to show more of Canada, or if Donald bore any resemblance to the character popularized in Disney's animated shorts, this may have been a worthwhile book. -
Liked reading a book about Canada. Donald is a narc throughout 😬😂.
