Best Erotic Romance Anthology is a great novel full with great short erotica stories, they all have been well written. They all are hot and steamy, just the way I like it when I read erotica.

I have to say those authors done an amazing job with these very short stories, some of them had me right from the first paragraph. I cannot tell you that I like one story better than the other, because they all had their own charms.

Now I know why I enjoy reading anthologies, those short stories are easy to read and very entertaining. So if you are looking for some small hot sexual stories, then this is definitely the book for you.

Started with a few excellent, steamy stories and then sort of fizzled out from there... This was the selection of the "best erotic romance" ?! Some of these stories really don't deserve that title!!!

"What happened in Vegas" - 4.5*
Due to his personal trauma, Paul is a commitmentophobe who already blew his chance to be with Robin once, but will not blow it again. Very hot (except that a mature guy has a tongue piercing...are you a 15yr old girl?!)... and with some "technical continuity errors"... Really - does noone proofread these things before publishing?!

    "First night" - 4*
Sophie thinks that their sex will change once she marries her fiancee. And by change, she thinks it will stop. She is in for a nice surprise...

"Another trick up my sleeve" - 3.5*
Her husband tells her their sex life is getting boring, so they try to spice it up. After nights of "spicy" and "kinky" sex, they are ready for the "regular" kind ;)

    "Once upon a dinner date" - 2*
A younger guy (college student), invites his sexy (8 yrs. older) single-mom neighbor for dinner and seduction. Meh - did not feel the chemistry between them. He sounded and behaved like a horny teenager (which was not so far from his actual age). Also, her food fetish creeped me out :(

"He tends to me" - 1*
She is sick with fever and dominating husband spanks her and has sex with her. Not my cup of tea :) Even though it was consentual (obviously!), I was still annoyed at him and kept thinking "the woman is sick! can you leave her alone?! or at least be gentle! I don't think she needs to be mock-raped at this point!!!" Ughh!

    "Guest services" -4*
She works in guest services at a hotel and has the hots for a long-time customer. Now that she is relocating to a different city, she decides to take the chance and seduce him. Really liked this one and would have given it 5* if it went a little more into detail about whether he liked her too, or just used her for the night... I'd have liked a subtle promise of visits to her new city... (I'm a romantic at heart, i know...sighhh)

    "Memories for sale" - 2.5*
A divorcing couple accidentally meet again at their cottage, arranging for its sale. They realize that they still love each other... I liked the beginning, but then the sex was not so hot (for me) and I didn't like the whole "i had an affair, you had an affair, let's try and work it out" ... Ummm - yea, that's what you were supposed to do BEFORE jumping at the option to get a divorce...

"Blame it on Facebook" - 3*
A widow has severed all ties with ALL of her and her husband's friends and moved across the country, 20 years ago when her soldier-husband died. Now Facebook played a role in reconnecting her with most of them, especially Eric - on whom she had a slight crush on even back then. Vanilla sex "scene", did not feel the chemistry between the two, despite of the author claiming that there was a lot of it...

    "The Draft" - 1*
This was a hippy-hick-white-trashy love story (that I think takes place in the '70s). She's a hippy hitchhiker, he's a hick truck driver who pulls over. It had potential, but the potential chemistry fizzled out pretty quickly as the story dragged out - by the time they "got down to business" it was not sexy at all and I no longer cared...

"To Be In Clover" - 1*
Again - I did not like this story. It did not seem sexy or hot to me. Two "farmers" having "vanilla" sex in the middle of a field, on top of bees and bugs... Ew.

    "Honey Changes Everything" - 2*
Husband lost his job and is depressed. Wife wants to cheer him up by preparing him breakfast in bed... It could have been a 3* or 4* story if the emphasis was placed on hot kitchen sex, not on her actually MAKING HIM BREAKFAST for 15 pages!!! There was about half a page of oral sex - the end... Meh...

    "Cheating Time" - 2.5*
Another one that could have been a 4* or 5* if written differently! This story had real potential, starting with the scorching bar scene where the couple pretends they don't know each other and start to get it on just behind the bar! However, the author then focused on the number of times the couple had sex, as opposed to the actual descriptions of it! Quality (descriptions), not quantity (telling me that "he took her against the bar, then on the back seat of the car, then in the barn!"), is generally a better approach (if you ask me). Also, the couple kept going on about how they are "running out of time" and they "only have one night" that I was thinking that someone is either leaving the country or terminally ill! It turns out they have children at home and are celebrating their anniversary by trying to get laid this one time out of the whole year. Wow - what a downer...

"Our own private champagne room" - 3.5*
Her husband is going to a bachelor party and she is a little jealous and curious, so she decides to prepare a show for him - where she dances/strips/gives him a lap dance. Could have been a 5* story with the sex described little bit better/hotter.

"Till the storm breaks" - 2*
A couple and a friend are stranded in a cottage during a storm power outage. Attractions spark and they end up having a threesome. This could have been great, had the sex description not been so weird and non-attractive > I just couldn't get into it - there was no chemistry - one moment they are eating, drinking and talking and then, next thing you know, they are having sex > zero buildup...

"The curve of her belly" - 3*
Pregnant woman does not feel good in her changing body, so husband tries to show her how much she still turns him on. Would have been awesome if there was actual sex.

    "Dawn chorus" - 2.5*
A man can never sleep because his downstairs freaky neighbor keeps blasting music all night long. He goes down to confront her, he seems like a shy loser, she seems like a total weirdo, but they have sex. Could have been excellent with 2 likable characters and some steamier scenes! This way - the author made it seem like a script for a bad indie flick.

This book was a scorcher! Each and every one of the stories contained a little something for everyone. In What Happened in Vegas, we meet a man whose life has fallen apart after the death of his son and the woman who turns it all around for him. The erotic heat between Robin and Paul is enough to heat up any room. But that is just one of the stories. In First Night, we see that marriage can make sex so much better and take the love two people have for each other to a completely different level.

The book combined some great erotic romps written by some of the best authors out there. What I enjoyed about the book was that it did not focus on just your normal average erotic kinky toys and mind blowing sex kind of reading, it also told the stories outside the bedroom and the trials and tribulations that the characters faced.

Yes, in some there are the wild, really kinky kind of stories that some people are uncomfortable reading. Again you need to be able to look past this and see the plot for what it is, the tale of two people able to find love and learn to live with the ups and downs of sex either wild, different, kinky or just plain ordinary and sometimes boring.

The book has so many various settings that there is not once that you expect which setting you will end up with or what type of characters to expect, which I totally loved about the book. It was like opening a surprise with each new story. Another nice part of this one was that the stories contained loads of references to the technology of today, things I can relate to such as Facebook, Blackberries etc, which I sometimes find in erotic books and even others the authors tend not to mention anything like that and the book almost feels "old" like I am reading a historical with characters in the wrong time setting. But in this one I could relate to most which was fun. I could actually see the characters in my minds eye going about their everyday life.

The book really was a lot of fun to read. It was upbeat, fun, spicy, sexy as hell and without giving away too much here I'll say this one is for reading when you're alone as some scenes will definitely make you blush!

I tend to prefer erotic anthologies in the same way I like a box of chocolates—there's a delightful sample of everything throughout, each one sweet and delicious (and sometimes a little nutty, but that's part of the fun). In much the same way, this anthology had a perfect blend of great authors, which, suffice it to say, made me a bigger fangirl for some of them than I already was. Heidi Champa's "Another Trick Up My Sleeve" is a fun riot of a piece, while Justine Elyot's "He Tends to Me" is sultry, sweet, and kinky. "Our Own Private Champagne Room" is pure Rachel Kramer Bussel—sexy with a silly flair, and with a premise familiar to most women that makes it extra entertaining. Kristina Wright's "The Curve of Her Belly" is the sexiest pregnancy short I've ever read, with just the right amount of romance bursting from the tale. Angela Caperton's "Guest Services" is brilliant—the voice is fantastic, the plot divine, and there's even a little character growth that makes you smile by the end (nevermind a smokin' sex scene, and I mean smokin'). And of course "To Be in Clover" by Shanna Germain has its own unique flavor, capturing a connection between two people that you can almost taste as you read. These are some of my favorites, but there are many other tasty morsels in this collection—a box of chocolates worth every bite.

This is the first book in a new series edited by Kristina Wright. Best Erotic Romance has some top names nestling between its covers. Shayla Black supplies a foreword, and the stories themselves are penned by Sylvia Day, Donna George Storey, Heidi Champa, Delilah Devlin, Saskia Walker, Justine Elyot, Angela Caperton, Andrea Dale, Kate Dominic, Craig J. Sorensen, Shanna Germain, Emerald, Kate Pearce, Rachel Kramer Bussel, Erobintica, Kristina Wright and Nikki Magennis.

These happily-ever-after or happy-for-now stories are varied; from brand new couples to those that have been together for years, readers are bound to identify with at least one tale. My particular favourites were Blame it on Facebook by Kate Dominic and The Draft by Craig J. Sorensen. Both were very different stories, but both were seriously sexy and left me grinning.

Some of the stories in Best Erotic Romance are more romantic than others, but they're all extremely erotic and will have you fanning yourself in no time at all. So if you're looking for an erotic read where there are interesting storylines, and the characters mean more to one another than just sex, then you should definitely add this book to your to be read list.

RAchel Kramer Bussel - Our Own Private Champagne Room
I like reading hot scenes from established couples, these two know how to keep the fires hot.

He Tends to Me by Justine Elyot - 5

Cheating Time by Kate Pearce - 5
Smokin' hot!, Some dominance and anal sex

The Draft by Craig J. Sorensen - 3

First Night by Donna George Storey - 4
Prewedding jitters and a little authority can make things get HOT

  • C Joy

    At last I finished this!

Not that it isn't good, but sometimes I just like them short and lusty so I didn't read it in one sitting (obviously).

This is a collection of short stories from the some of the best erotica writers out there. I loved the variety, from a newlywed couple, to a longtime married couple, to strangers, fantasies, it's there. When I read the author's note, I did this with an open mind. I escaped my realist thinking and got into the characters' deepest desires.

My favorites were the stories with the married couples rekindling the fire. It happens in real life though it's masked in fiction form. Another thing I like about these short stories: they're guaranteed straight to the point and sizzling.

  • Wollstonecrafthomegirl

If you call the book 'Best Erotic Romance' you're really setting your stall out early on for the quality of the work which will be inside. This fell significantly short of 'best' for me. The last two stories were excellent, everything else was decidedly standard. If I had it over, I wouldn't buy this book again.

  • Skylar Newbury

You see, with this book I was kinda torn.

There were some stories I really loved and others I literally just skipped because I just couldn't get into it.

  • Darcy

Like any collection of stories some are stronger than others, but for the most part they were good, filled with fun, sexy couples.

    3 sweet, sexy stars!

I love it when I read a story about a man trying to comfort his pregnant wife.. I believe it's one of the most beautiful things a woman can have from a man!

  • Stef

Great book of a collection of several erotic authors and bits and pieces of erotica. A fast read.

  • FayAnn

It was defiantly an interesting read. Out of 17 stories I only disliked 2 of them.

  • Donna M.

    Some were better than others.

  • Barbara

I really liked some of the stories, others not so much. This was a pretty expensive purchase, not sure if it was worth the money.

  • Yna from Books and Boybands

Short shorts that will make you hot and tingly.

    Not quite for me. >_<

  • Blair Bonet

I really liked this book. Some stories were better than others, but they all definitely hit the spot. If you like your sex hot, this is the set for you!

  • Marse

    Gran gran gran libro

  • Emily Jones

The stories were great and it's probably my fault, but I thought it was one long book about 2 characters, it's not, I lost interest quickly but the steamy scenes were amazing! Not a bad book just didn't hold my interest!

  • Jan

too short of stories and not enough meat to them.

  • Colleen

None of the stories captured me, so I ended up skimming through most of this one. Disappointing.
