Babies Celebrated Reviews
-
This book wasn't exactly what I had expected. It was anthropologists and field photographers explaining various traditions surrounding baby care. It was more scholarly and clinical and less "awwww, babies."
I was surprised at how many cultures paint their babies' faces as a means of superstitious protection. -
I loved all the photographs in this book- but unfortunately, reading about all of the superstitions of various tribal peoples was very disturbing. I had nightmares about spirits coming to steal away my three-month-old baby. Maybe now wasn't the best time to try this book!

Fascinating--focus is on third world countries.
