BLURB Carol can't work. She can't even think. Everything's closing in on her. She needs to get away, so she gets in her Thunderbird—a gift from someone she doesn't even want to think about—and starts driving up the Pacific Coast Highway. After playing the set of their life, at the Monterey Pop Festival, the five members of the Maidenhead become mesmerized by Carol, a mysterious beauty who shows up at their motor home asking to use the restroom. As the night moves on they toke a little grass, shed a few clothes and get to know each other. It's The Summer of Love and they want her for sure and it's looking more and more like she wants them. Will she? Dare she? PROLOGUE "Hello?" "Tami, it's Carol." "Carol. Where are you?" "I'm in San Luis Obispo." "What're you doing there?" "I've been driving." "Where to?" "Monterey." "Why?" "I need to get away." "You're missing the rehearsal?" "I know, I'm sorry. Cover for me, will you?" "Of course. But why?" "I feel caged. I need to get away. I need to do something I want, while I still can." "What're you going to do?" "I don't know yet. Whatever, I feel like." EXCERPT A rap sounded on the aluminum door. Zach, the nearest, opened it. Standing on the top step was the foxiest chick he'd ever seen. She had long blonde hair, and the blouse she wore was soaked. He started to scan her slender form, but couldn't get past her bosom. The wet fabric clung to her breasts making them look bare. They were perfect. Zach's manhood liked what he saw, because it jumped, ready for action. Casting a warm smile, she waved. "Hi, I'm Carol. I don't suppose you have a bathroom I could use, do you?" God, she was gorgeous. Her square face, blue-green eyes and cute nose surrounded by that three-foot-long mane of silky hair were pure eye-candy. He stepped aside, inviting her in. "Of course. Come in, please." Her eyes sparkled, dancing with amusement as she took a single step inside and set her carryall handbag off to the side. The guy's eyes widened, when they saw who'd come in. Carol raised her index finger to her luscious, full lips. "You guys were the opening band, weren't you?" Reacting like zombies, they nodded. Zach managed to mutter, "Yes, Maidenhead." She eased up to him and spread her long, elegant fingers across his chest. "Like the name. How'd ya come up with that?" She was young, but older than them. She oozed confidence and with her looks, why shouldn't she. He shrugged. "It seemed different and we like girls." She giggled. "And I like guys. You're the singer." "And lead guitar. I'm Zach." Her hand slid up to his face and her fingers brushed his cheek. "Right, I love your voice. And your eyes. What color are they?" "Brownish green. Some say hazel." "Well they're different. Bedroom eyes." Of course, Zach had seen women as beautiful as Carol. In magazines, on TV and in the movies, but he'd never been near one. Until Carol, it seemed like they were just out there, in some other world, maybe not even real. "Thanks, I think." Carol made him so nervous he couldn't think, so he introduced the guys.

SLEEPING WITH THE BAND: Women's Fantasies Reviews

So hot I think it melted my Kindle...

She closed her eyes and moaned as ten hands and five lips wandered he length of her body and face. Her thumping heart beat in her ears as carnal sensations multiplied in her core and coursed throughout her body.
Seriously. I needed a private moment after this one *clears throat* because this was off-the-scales hot. Just some straight up fun Erotica.

    I loved it!

Steamy moments aside, the fact that this centered around the Monterey Pop Festival, and had all the hallmarks and colloquialisms of the summer of '67 really made this an entertaining read...

    CAROL
She felt like a sex goddess, who was being collectively seduced by five virile young gods. She had no intention of stopping.
It's the Summer of Love and Carol and her pink Thunderbird made the long drive to the Monterey Pop Festival. After a fellow festival-goer spills a beer all over her, she shows up at the door of a Winnebago looking for a place to clean up.

The five members of Maidenhead (opening band at the festival) are stunned to see the gorgeous girl in a top so soaked it's practically transparent.

    They're drooling over her...
    She's mesmerized by them...
    Sparks fly...
    One thing leads to another...

Did it read like a porno at times? Yes.
Am I ok with that? Fuck yes.

You know what this would be perfect for?
If you need a good bit of steamy fun between novels,
If you want something short, quick, and sexy,
or if you had bad luck with your last book and need a good rebound...

No matter your reason, I recommend you grab your ticket and get ready,
cause the summer of love just got hotter...

Like this novella, this is going to be a short review. Playing with The Band takes the reader into one woman's night where she decides to let her inhibitions go, takes a walk on the wild side, gets high and does five guys...and I'm not talking burgers and fries y'all hear! This short erotica had ME blushing and I love smut...er, I mean erotica. From the minute Carol takes those young studs back to her hotel room, the rest of the novella was an imagination sensory overload. Towards the end it was almost too much and I was just as dizzy as Carol! There is a little bit of depth in the story as well. You see right after this wild Hangover-esque night, Vietnam kicked off and three of the young men got caught up in the draft. Two went into the military, one went to Vietnam but didn't make it home, one dodged, one went to college and was deferred for a medical issue. The lead singer went on to compose a song for a movie about that night with Carol, which earned him a Grammy award...and you would never guess who the actress was that presented him with the Grammy and starred in the movie? Carol!

As for the author Dee Dawning, you nasty little perv you! I officially crown you my King of Smut...er, Erotica! I kneel at your feet forever your loyal subject!

Let me tell you, Dee Dawning will have you holding your breath, gasping in shock, then have you hot and cold all at the same time! I was huddled over my Kindle looking over my shoulder and giggling like a naughty school girl. I LOVED it!

I will give you fair warning though, if you aren't into extreme forms of erotica, like menages and gang bangs, then you might want to skip this one. We wouldn't want to offend your delicate sensibilities would we. *snicker, snicker, wink, wink

A man drops beer on Carol. She goes to Maidenhead's tour bus to use their bathroom to clean up. She doesn't have an extra blouse and she and the band play all night long. A lot of sex that works well with the story and the time period--late 60's and a music festival. Free and easy does it. A quick read, fun read.

  • Renee

If you like hot sex and a hot chick, you will want to get this one. The story is short but it is sexy and cute. The sex works well for the time period (A late 60's music festival). A fast, fun read.

  • Dee Dawning

    Great consensual gangbang story.

Not for me. I didn't get into it. I did like that there was a follow up, and you got to see what happened at the end.

  • Allison Gill

Carol has a clothing disaster and knocks on the door of a 5 piece band to clean up. What happens is a learning experience for all. Very sexy, this book is short but sweet.

  • Siren's Song

It was hot, hot, hot, for a little book it managed to cover all the right parts! For more of this review visit

Sometimes books shouldn't try to have a HEA.

  • Rita Renaldi

Five band members and one lady at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. This is really well done menage-a-six.

  • Saebyn

Fun, quick and sexy story. A few minor spelling errors, but none distracted from the story. Sex, love and rock 'n' roll!

  • Dee Dawning

    Great story! Why no cover?
