After a few tiring years on the road, nationally known singer Henna James takes a sabbatical and visits her dear friend, Monica. During her search for rejuvenation and inspiration for her next CD, she meets Craig, Monica's flighty, womanizing younger brother. Though at first they refuse to admit it, sparks fly between these two very different people.

Henna falls harder than she cares to admit. Craig, too, is having feelings he's never experienced before; but Craig hasn't been completely honest. He has a long-distance girlfriend, Nia, who suddenly pops into town and delivers a commitment ultimatum. She is tired of their on again/off again relationship, and she is ready to be married.

Craig is torn, but ultimately his decision is made for him. Henna learns about Nia, and quickly ends the affair with Craig. Seeing no hope of reconciliation with Henna, Craig proposes to Nia, but before the wedding takes place, Henna delivers some surprising news: she's pregnant with their child.

Now each of them has decisions to make. Craig knows he must tell Nia the truth, but is he ready to become responsible for the first time in his life? And if Henna decides to take him back, will she ever be able to truly forgive him?

Three Chords and the Truth is about leaving emotional baggage behind, trusting the heart after being hurt, and loving outside your comfort zone.

    Another sad music industry story

This book was difficult for me. I feel like there has been enough stories written around the music industry and if the story does not introduce a different point of view that’s never been told before then the story is rather predictable.

Also this book was written oddly for me. A character would be talking about one subject and change to a completely different topic. It was as if I was reading an episode of the twilight zone.

But if your in need of anything to read then I would suggest this book.

I really liked this book. I found myself not being able to put it down because I could not wait to see what happened next. This was a true story of love at first site even though both Henna and Craig did not know it yet! I am a sucker for a good love story and this really kept my interest going. Henna like so many woman just need a break to reevaluate her life and she ended up falling for a younger man. As they both tried to say it was just a fling I enjoyed reading about them seeing each other on the sneak so her best friend who was also his sister would not find out and meanwhile Henna wrote the best album of her career. just when I thought that Henna was going to get back with her ex manager/ex boyfriend this book took me for yet another twist. I was saddened at Henna's loss but I think that just brought henna and Craig to a better place. Very good read!
