  This on Aleister Crowley's suggested reading list, described as a "highly informative" tale.
  It is not until toward the end that there is any useful information, and much of it is highly suspect.
  Supposedly based on a true story, or official documents, it is extremely doubtful that things played out the way Meinhold presents the tale. In fact, based on the witch hysteria of Poland at the time, I'm guessing that Sidonia Von Borck was little more than just another innocent victim accused of witchcraft by greedy men, guilty only of suing rich family members for support money due her, and her involvement in scandalous convent politics.

  Not what I was hoping for. I wanted a witch story and it was high courtly romance. I gave up.
