An Albanian Journal (Terra Incognita Series) Reviews
-
The writer can't escape the classical 18th-19th century orientalism of too many "Travels to the East","Eothen" etc. Nevertheless,he seems to be less talented than his predecessors in interpretations and his descriptions are deprived of interest and depth.
-
Very boringly writers with a touch of xenophobia thrown in to keep readers on their toes. Two stars because he wrote a fairly decent Afterword.
-
Wonderful journal of the events Keeley experienced as an author visiting Albania with other authors, after the communist regime of Hoxhar. Good descriptions of the people, food, and environment.
-
Is it just the minivans, or must travel to all places, once fascinating, now with the life bleached from them by globalization like old photos, read like bad self-published poetry?
