The Story Of Baseball Reviews
-
This was a fun read, though it was published in 1990. No Barry Bonds or Mark Maguire, or Cal Ripkin, Jr. Still full of great stories.
-
I just loved this concise book on baseball. You get to meet the stars of yesteryear and hear very interesting stories!
-
this book is right up my ally i like it for two reasons. one baseball and two it is good to learn about it even more
-
The version of the book I read was originally published in 1983 and had a different cover than the one showed here (mine had Jim Gantner and Ken Oberkfell from the 1982 World Series)
Ritter does a good job of writing an introductory book for young readers. Relying on snippets from "The Glory of their Times" these remembrances offer depth to the early part of the 20th century baseball
The first half of the book is a chronological history of the game, the second an explanation of positions, strategy and terms. A nice collectible and excellent for young readers
