  • Cara Byrne

"for millions of fans Jackie Robinson meant so much more than awards and averages. He was not just a hero for black people. He was a hero for the whole country" (45).

  • Emma

This book had a lot of information about All-Black Baseball but not a lot of information about Jackie Robinson.

  • Emily Dudek

    Good book!

  • Ricci

My son liked it more than my daughter. This is one of the best Step it Reading books I have read. There are lots of pictures and historical facts. The book is actually about the other players in the "Negro Leagues" that helped to pave the way for Jackie Robinson. Highly Recommend for kids who love baseball, or kids who love history.

  • Mellanie C

It is criminal that so many great baseball players have never been acknowledged for their achievements just because of the color of their skin.

  • Mary

Great introduction to the Negro Leagues and their famous players. Interspersed with illustrations and pictures.

  • Jana

This inspirational story is great for young baseball fans.
