This is a beautiful hardcover slipcased book and is proudly displayed in my favorites shelf in the living room. Add to that that I met Vess a while back and that he autographed and "doodled" a nice cat jumping in stars just for me :-) and you have what might just be my very favorite book ever.

A splendid collection of fairy tales illustrated splendidly by Charles Vess, of the very acknowledged masters of fantasy illustration. The stories are very simple and almost childish, but the illustration is what has value in this book, like the panels at the end, that by itself justify the beauty of this book. Highly suggested in order to see how works a master.
