I think this book is a great introduction to using and making sense of money. The book is laid out perfectly for a beginning elementary student. The spaces for each coin that are laid out on each page is a great tool for students that want to follow along. In this way, it would be great to use at a center and have children follow along with real money. Or have them create and write another story of something they could sell that would allow them to get 100 cents.

It was a little young for my students, but I would say a great math story for kindergarten or first grade for a money unit.
