My Oh My, the seven-year-old and I loved this story. We loved the friends that see things differently and the message of not always following the crowd is well done.
The first grader read it with no stumbling and the words were cute and catchy. I enjoy when there is a cadence to a story.
This is a great choice for cat loving children as well as early readers that just want a fun story to read aloud. -

Emma the cat wants to go out to lunch with her friend Lou Lou, but she's embarrassed to be seen with Lou Lou because Lou Lou isn't wearing one of the fashionable small hats--her hat is fat. Lou Lou gets angry and tells Emma that if she doesn't want to be seen with her, then they won't eat lunch together at all. Saddened, Emma tries to find lunch on her own, but nothing she is offered by the various shopkeepers is in style. Finally, hunger causes her to eat something anyway, and she realizes that what's in style doesn't really matter. She apologizes to Lou Lou, Lou Lou lends her a colorful flat hat, and they continue on to lunch.
I really liked this book. Way to stick it to the man, Cats. -
Cute book for showing kids about popularity and fitting in with everyone else.
