8/10
"La mummia" (The Mummy) is finally another good story of the detective of nightmares. A new killing spree hit London; seemingly random people are being killed and their blood is used to write hieroglyphs around their body. They call themselves the children of Seth. When suddenly the killings become more intense and more often, Dylan Dog is hired by a young woman named Plenty, whose sister Glenn had just been killed. Dylan Dog tries to understand what is going on by getting information from experts about who Seth even is, and what the killings could mean. When Lord Cavendish, a rich enthusiast of Egyptian (and other) archaeological findings, is killed, Bloch is unable to stop him from sniffing around the mansion. That's where he finds a secret room, where he makes a close encounter with a mummy that has forgotten how to die...
A great book, only held back by its brief duration. I hope they will somehow, somewhen continue the story started here, because while the main plot is solved by the end and the killings are stopped, there is still much to see about the "Children of Seth" and the Mummy named Nectas that gives the issue its title, but is seen only a couple of times in total.
Still, I can definitely recommend this, as one of the good issues. -
