Kittens! Kittens! Kittens! Reviews

Yup, another cat book picked out at the library by my son. It's official he will be a crazy cat lady er
crazy cat dude when he grows up. No doubt. He is going to be just like his uncle who has 7...yes 7 cats.
This rhyming book features cats of all shapes colors and sizes. There is no plot just rhyming featuring different stages in a kittens life.
Ok first must point out the drawings. ACK!! So darn adorable! Before I even opened up the book I was enamored of the cats on the cover. I'm not even talking about my son. I mean I myself was in love with them. It made me want to scoop our cat, Marshmellow and begin to stroke his fur.
I loved the rhymes which kept a nice quick pace to the book. While there was no plot my son easily kept up with what was happening. He was just happy to see so many cats.
4 out of 5 stars!
**This book was read with my special needs son who is severely learning disabled. The review reflects not only my opinion but his as well -
Cute! Cute! Cute! Fun rhyming story about the adorable things kittens do as they grow up.
-
If you love kittens and cats you will adore this picture book!

We got this book for my son. Who at three years old is the biggest kitty lover I have ever known.
He loved it. All the different types of cats and the bright pictures made it perfect for him. I have read it many times to him and it clearly has become a favorite. He still loves going through the pages and pointing out all the kinds of kitties.
definitely recommend if you have a child who is an animal lover and loves cats. -
An absolutely wonderful exploration of all that kittens do!
They:
find tails to stalk and chase,
hide when they're feeling shy,
Purr when they're stroked just right, etc.
Purrfect for the kitten lover in your life - old or young! -
Very sweet rhyming book about kittens.
-
A bit long for very young readers but very cute
-
nice rhythm but a little too long-winded, and geeez, why do the cats have kittens at the end, hello! spay/neuter!

Very cute artwork. Rhyming couplets describe all the things kittens get into and enjoy.

My four-year-old son checked this book out from the library last week.
Before I married, I lived in the corner house. I grew catnip in my garden. I had five cats -- all rescues (and one dog -- also a rescue). Yes, I was the crazy cat-lady of my neighborhood.
I still have two full-grown cats and one that is a little more than a kitten. So you would think that I would completely and utterly love a book entitled Kittens! Kittens! Kittens! I almost do, but not quite.
I do completely and utterly love the illustrations. They are soft, fluffy and adorable. Just like real kittens.
The story in this book is good, with a great ending. It is told in rhyme, which almost completely works, but not entirely all the time. There are a few places where the rhyming scheme feels forced.

This was so cute! Almost made me want to run down to the Humane Society and bring home a few kittens.
Illustrator David Walker must have kittens because he sure knows how to depict them in all their many poses. The rhyming text describes what kittens do while they grow up, which is mostly getting into trouble--"climbing curtains, shredding chairs..." The picture of the kitten looking uncomfortable wearing a collar and bell is all too accurate. I was a bit uneasy that there was no message or note anywhere about spaying and neutering, as the book seemed to depict kittens multiplying exponentially with no end in sight. Still, it's a cute readaloud, and recommended for those illustrations. (Read for the second time Sept. 2011) -
Well, overall, this is cute but highly irresponsible -- spay and neuter your kittens (and cats and assorted cute fluffies), because there are way too many homeless animals out there. Adorable pics but it's hard to celebrate the circle of life when there are lots of lives already in need of caring homes.

36 months - I grabbed this up at the thrift store for $1 because my daughter liked Puppies Puppies Puppies and she can't wait to get her new kitty and puppy after the losse of two cats and a dog over the past year. I want right, instant LOVE, a good rhyme and cute illustrations.

Really fun, great rhymes. Kittens doing all sorts of things like trying out their kitty litter and walking on rooftops. Would be good for preschoolers, nice repetition in the refrain "here and there and everywhere, kittens, kittens, kittens!"
-
there is no shame in reading a childrens book because i learned that being happy is easy when you're surrounded by adorable kittens
-
The kittens are freakishly cute, but this book drags a bit. It's just too long, to my way of thinking. If I read it in story time again, I think I would skip a few pages.
-
Of course we loved it, we love kittens.
-
loved the pictures- was a little long though.
-
David Walker's illustrations eclipse Meyers's sweet rhymes to make this an absolutely gorgeous book
-
My son picked this out at the library. The pictures are neat and simple. The rhymes are nice, too.
-
This book is full of energy and cuteness. And it even almost rhymes. Kittens grow up to be cats and possibly parents.
-
Too long. Too much rhymed couplets.
-
At first I thought this book would be great for toddlers with its simplistic rhyming text, but it is much too long. Great illustrations show the life of kittens.
-
This book changed my life.

TEN THOUSAND GOLD STARS.
