What Is A Furry?
A furry is an anthropomorphic being—an animal with human characteristics. Furries have fascinated artists going back thousands of years and as seen in the influx of animal/human characters into popular culture, interest today is at an all time high. And now for the first time all in one volume, you’ll be able to take the next step to the outer limits of your imagination with the ultimate guide to drawing your own furries—Christopher Hart’s Drawing Fantastic Furries. After a basic lesson in the fundamentals of comparative human and animal anatomies, you’ll learn how to draw an entire menagerie of furry species, ranging from the adorable and charming super-cute furries to the seductive and super-popular glamorous furries to the warriors, wizards, vampires, and demons of the furry occult and fantasy realms.

Worth the read (I guess) but this book has many problems if you truly want to learn how to draw furry art. First, this book was HIGHLY sexualised which is my number one complaint, I do not like books that make me embarrassed to carry in public, even the cover shows little artistic taste. Second, this book was very style dependent which I have found Christopher Hart (and most How-To-Draw authors)notorious for. He didn't teach me how to draw furs as much as he taught me how to draw them his way, which is not really all that great to begin with (The felines were just anime characters with cat ears & noses). Finally, whenever you get to pages that give you tips on character construction such as the page telling you about emotion and how to dress characters it doesn't give any well placed advise...just pictures. I'm sorry I didn't want to see an illustrated list of emotions, I want to see how they are done in basic form. In short, All the right IDEAS in all the wrong places and Don't use in public unless you want people to think you are a sexual deviant as well.

shows how to draw specific furries, but isn't broad enough in range and scope to be any more useful than children's "how to draw..." books
