Dylan Dog n. 34: Il buio Reviews

  • G.A.

  • Zachary Mezz

A real giallo, with good dialogue and some really creepy and sleazy scenes.

  • Jenika Ioffreda

    6.5/10

In this episode of Dylan Dog, he has to confront darkness itself. A your girl, Kelly, experiences the death of her father, as he is killed by Mana Cerace, a name like any other give to the entity that hides in darkness to kill people. Ten years later, Kelly is sitting at Dylan's place, still not completely recovering from her fears of the dark. She is convinced, Mana Cerace is back to kill her...
Dylan is initially both suspicious of her and taken aback by her beauty, but she pays him 500 Pounds in advance, so he has little space to argue. Also, shortly thereafter, Brett, Kelly's boyfriend, and Monique, her childhood friend, are killed, and the weapons used for that have the fingerprints of a certain Philip Crane, a serial killer who died 20 year prior... what is Dylan going to do about this weird and confusing case?

A story that starts great and certainly has its moments, but that is almost entirely ruined by its finale, in my opinion. It seems like it was another one of these tales that the writers were making up as they went, providing both a spooky and a completely logical solution to the case. And while having the logical solution is cool once in a while, it also robs the stories of their horror aspect. At least it does this time.
