Well-researched and impeccably written, the Rough Guides are a great choice for anyone seeking to be an informed, prepared traveler. Due to the fantastic essays, the Rough Guides are as much fun for armchair travelers as they are for those actually on the road. Each edition comes with detailed maps, in-depth essays on the history and culture of each destination, a wide range of lodging options, and recommendations for off-the-beaten-path places to visit. The special attention paid to the writing is a boon for travelers, most of whom find themselves reading the guide cover to cover instead of just looking up their specific itineraries.
Pocket Rough Guide: Prague Reviews
-
Actually, this guide to Prague was the only one available in my local library, so I had no choice but to be accompanied by the Rough Guide. However, I found it quite adequate for the short city break. Prague is a great place to visit, packed with historical locations, castle, churches, the old town areas with many historic buildings and interesting museums. My legs just about managed with the walking even with the easy to negotiate tram, bus and metro systems.
The guide comes with a pull out map, but better ones are readily available everywhere for next to nothing.
Watch the taxi drivers...they're rip offs.
