Ouran High School Host Club, Vol. 2 (Ouran High School Host Club, #2) Reviews
-
The second volume of Ouran High School Host Club includes where Haruhi has to take a physical exam, Hunny goes missing at Kyoya's family pool resort, Tamaki has apprentice, and the twins are fighting.
If you have seen the anime then you pretty much know what to expect out of Volume two, but it's still worth a read. Of course the characters are all up to their usual antics and this one goes deeper into some of the characters. I especially like when the twins fight. I just love this series!! It's hilarious, intelligent, charming, and a lot deeper than you would think. I can't wait to read volume three.
The only thing I didn't like in this volume was the Romantic Egoist bonus story. It's something else Bisco Hatori did before writing the host club. I honestly didn't read all of that story, but I still rated this one 5 stars. I don't think it would be fair take off stars for bonus material that has nothing to do with Ouran.
I recommend this to anyone who loves manga and satire. It's not just for girls either!

I'm d r o w n i n g in cuteness.

The episode where the twins fight is probably one of my favorites and it was great seeing it here. I laughed and then I laughed again. Love you forever, Ouran.
-
I loved reading all the familiar episodes in this book. The voices and everything plays out in my head the way they do in the anime of course. Can't help that. Love this series.

The school-wide physical exam has thrown the members of the Host Club for a loop. How can the doctor not discover that Haruhi is a girl?!
i love this manga and i already wacth the anime version. if you love georgeous and cute boy, this manga is for you -
The best part of this volume was an unrelated, chapter-long story called Romantic Egoist that was included at the end. This is really just more of the same stuff set up in vol. 1, including Haruhi being charged for broken pottery (well, tea set, to be specific)
-
Really very funny! I love Honey and Tamaki, the twins, Mori. All the characters are hilarious! So cute!!!

This series brings out so mutch laughter and joy, and the artwork is so adorable, that it even warm my cold heart.
Ouran high school host club volume 2 by Bisco Hatori get a 10/10 stars. -

The school-wide physical exam has thrown the members of the elegant Host Club for a loop. How can the doctor not discover that Haruhi is a girl? And once the female customers learn the turn, Haruhi can kiss her job goodbye. Illustrations. Rated for teens.
Review: I'm enjoying this manga series its funny and the characters are entertaining in this volume the health test is coming up and no one knows Haruhi is a girl except the group so they find a way for her to get her health test and no one to know her secret. In the next part Hikaru and Kaoru get in a fight for the first time and the group is trying to figure out what to do Haruhi is the only one who can tell the difference between them she tells them they need to stop and it turns out they were messing with them and they weren't really fighting. This kid needs help talking to women but it turns out he only needs help talking to this one girl who is moving away and they play piano together very cute . Haruhi gets dragged to this resort and hunny gets separated and mori and Haruhi try to find him and he finds them . -
Mori is the cutest I like him so much.

کاش میتونستم فیزیکال بخونمش. خیلی ازش لذت میبرم و واقعا به خوشحال کردنم کمک میکنه.

I’ll make this brief. This is a reread for a reason. I love the characters, Haruhi is awesome, the twins are humorous, and the side stories worthwhile.
-
I've read this volume before and I'm only just now seeing that I never logged or reviewed it. Oopsy. 😅
I just absolutely love this series and these characters. It's so lighthearted and fun, with its rare moments of emotional clarity. It's just a nice, refreshing break from a lot of YA fiction that can be dark and weigh me down sometimes.
I highly recommend you give this series a shot if you're looking for something light and fluffy! -
Reading the manga is really helping me appreciate the anime because the anime was such a true adaptation of the manga.
-
Me gustó mucho y me reí mucho. Adicional amé la historia de egoista romántico que viene al final.
-
Siento que estos personajes y esta historia me reconfortan el corazón <3
Es tan ridículamente absurda y graciosa... la amo jajaja
Mori senpai cásate conmigo! xD -
Those twins are scheming little bastards
-
Not as good as the first volume, but the twin fight was great😆

The events in this volume were not as interesting for everyone in the club trying to keep Haruhi being a girl secret. For the schools physical exams are coming up. Then the second half was the twins, Hikaru and Kaoru, fighting the entire time and everyone is shocked by it because they never fight. But in the end it turns out they weren’t fighting seriously but we’re looking to get more of Haruhi’s attention. This volume didn’t do much for the storyline but it did show some character growth. Overall, this was a cute volume but not as impactful.

Haruhi is at risk of being exposed, the Twins play an incredibly involved prank, and Hunny is revealed to be a badass martial artist in this volume. Tamaki is also relentlessly teased by the twins as he delves deeper into denial in terms of his crush on Haruhi. Just another day for our Hosts.
I really loved this volume but I may have enjoyed the addition of Romantic Egotist at the end even more. It was a really nice surprise because it was such a cute little story. -
It's time for the dreaded physical! It wouldn't be so bad, but the nurses can hardly fail to notice that Haruhi is indeed, a girl. Luckily, the club has a plan! (And Kyoya has a real plan.)
Kaoru and Hikaru are in a fight! How will it ever end?! (Those two are so sneaky...)
Shiro's got a problem and only Tamaki can help. (Supposedly!)
Time for a break at Kyoya's fancy new indoor resort. (Oh the lifestyles of the wealthy!) Just one little issue though, not everything is perfectly ready to go. Hunny gets whooshed away and then there is a slight animal problem...(I think Mori is extra cute in this one!)
I'm really enjoying taking my time reading this series. It's very enjoyable especially for such a crappy time in the world overall. -
Rating: 5+ / 5
This volume contains more of the same shenanigans of the host club as in Volume 1, except that now the personalities of the characters are getting better developed. At first glance, you can pretty much sum up each character in a few words:
Tamaki - bipolar idealistic-egotist
Haruhi - disinterested heroine
Kyoya - sneaky smiling debt manager
Hikaru and Kaoru - troublesome prankster twins
Honey - cinnamon roll
Mori - silent giant
So, in other words, they're pretty basic and based on some archetype or other, but put together they form something unique in their interactions with one another. In Volume 1, at least.
But in Volume 2, not only does Hatori put them in situations in which they're supposed to take action in a way, but she also has moments of realization for the characters that develop how they view each other for hidden depths--most noticeably how Haruhi is starting to see beneath Tamaki's annoying-flashy-dramatic-egotistical-"King" exterior. So, although it's very slight and the majority of the plot at this point is still just an experiment of putting the host club in different costumes and scenarios, I do like what personality progressions there are, and begin to see how it's not as formulaic as I once thought. -
i was a little confused by what was going on at the beginning of this, but i eventually remembered what was happening from what i've seen in the show. this is definitely a lot more difficult to follow than the show is, which is interesting. i'm sure that if i hadn't already seen the anime, i would have no idea what's going on.
but it was decent. i still love haruhi very much, the rest of the characters are still funny but kinda meh. current favorite boy is mori because he's just...the most chill. :) -
I got this as a christmas present so I was excited to read it once I got it. It's a very cute book that reminds me of all my favorite moments from the anime. At the end it featured a bonus story that the creator wrote called "romantic egoist" and it was such a fun cute little short to conclude the manga. I would recommend if you love the series or want a cute shoujo manga.
-
3 stars for the Ouran Host Club part because it was good as usual but these three episodes just happen to be among my least favourites in the anime. The fourth star is for the short story Romantic Egoist included in the back, which I loved.

The fact that I know who Hikaru and Kaoru is an accomplishment
