Black Books Galore! Guide to Great African American Children's Books Reviews

This, and it's two accompanying books AA Books for Boys and AA Books for girls, fills a gaping hole I had in my life. I read (in Smart Girls, Two) that Maya Angelou read only books by African American authors as a girl. Knowing this set me on a tear of looking for age-appropriate books for my 8 and 5 year old written by people of color.

While I borrowed Black Book Galore's from the library, I found this solution annoying as there is no easy way to make note of the large list they recommend. So buy the book!

Another great use I found for this book is checking amazon.com for "customers who also bought this item also bought" to find more recently released books.
